A pleasurable experience!

It is always such a pleasure to read or listen to one of Gayle Buck's stories as they are so sweet and have such lovely characters in them.
This particular audiobook, which was narrated by Julia Eve, was one such a story and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
Just the thing in this traumatic day and age of the Covid Virus to take one out of the horrid reality and into a world of beautiful romancing during the Regency era and where one can be entertained without a care in the world.
Call it escapism, that's totally ok with me, but for those few hours I really enjoyed being transported away.
So, if you need something light, this is the story for you.

Great Read

Loved the story and the characters. It was interesting and well told. Kept my interest through the whole reading. It came alive. I received it as a gift and recommend it to all.

Fred's a hero

Guin was a paragon at blending in the background and putting everyone's wants before her own. She was bullied. downtrodden, and a pawn. The mom was a vile empty vessel of selfishness. Glad for Percy's intervention. I loved that Guin finally overrode her mom's greed and took her future back into her own hands. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job.

The transformation is worth the wait!

Gayle Buck's writing is reminiscent of Georgette Heyer's, Sir Frederick isn't as world-weary as some of Heyer's male characters tend to be (also, no mention of former mistresses-yay!).

Cupid's Choice was a delight! I loved Guin's development from trodden down down to confident young miss! Ms. Buck took the time to make Guin's journey feel natural and unrushed. I was truly disappointed when the book ended!

I agree with another reviewer that I would have liked more from Sir Frederick's point-of-view, but I still thoroughly enjoyed the book!

Julia Eve did a wonderful job with the various voices! Her acting is stellar and her timing, emotion and nuances are top-notch! She has become one of my favorites!

A Regency Romance!

Guineveve (Guin) and Sir Frederick's story is beautifully written. Guin is such a wonderful character, strong, and determined. Sir Frederick is handsome, and caring. I loved to follow them in their journey to love. The supporting characters, good and bad, are well developed, and intriguing. Julia Eve did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it!

A twin’s dilemma

This story is of a timid twin who is continually disparaged by her mother. With a few turns in events and love to give her backbone she begins to emerge into her own person and stop hiding in her twin’s shadow. The ending brought smiles and good resolution, and a surprise that added an especially good chuckle!
The reader did a great job of bringing the characters to life with each of the voices assigned. It helped me picture the characters as I listened.

Absolutely amazing!!

Masterfully written AND performed! The twisting plot and fully developed characters of this heart-gripping romance led me on a roller coaster of emotion that was a true joy to experience! Truly a must listen!
