Acerca de esta escucha

The true story (on which the film Jeremiah Johnson was partially based) of John Johnson, who in 1847 found his wife and her unborn child had been killed by Crow braves. Out of this tragedy came one of the most gripping feuds - one man against a whole tribe - in American history.

"Warrants a place on any shelf of Western Americana.” (San Francisco Chronicle)

Lo que los oyentes dicen sobre Crow Killer

Con calificación alta para:

The Audiobook Tells The Story Of Jeremiah Johnson, A Legendary Mountain Man Who Lived In The American West During The Early 19th Century. Many Reviewers Praised The Fascinating And Thrilling Tale, With Its Rich Descriptions And Great Storytelling That Vividly Portrays Frontier Life. However, Some Criticized The Poor Narration, Slow Pacing, And Exaggerated Or Inauthentic Elements Of The Story. The Book Explores Themes Of Mountain Men, The American West, Legends And Folklore Surrounding Figures Like Johnson, And The Harsh Realities Of Life On The Frontier. While Some Reviewers Felt The Book Lacked Authenticity With Its Graphic Violence And Tall Tales, Others Appreciated Learning The True Story Behind The Famous Movie Character.

good story narrator could have been better, tried to sound moutain, came off sounding mentally challenged, made Johnson sound like and oaf more than dangerous no matter what the material related. The story however was awesome

FANTASTIC BOOK

This is by far my most favorite book of all time. The humor and fierceness and strong character development and storytelling just brought this tale to life! this is a must read for almost anyone I'd say.

a great read

dont listen to the other reviewers who complained about the accents of the narrator being laid on thick, or about the pace of reading being slow, or that the characters were illiterate. this is a great read and of great historical relevance. I think the narrator did great with the accents and country people speak slow even today so pay those tenderfoot reviewers no mind.

Great Book!!!

Very informative book, fascinating stories of a time gone bye. The accents that were complained about, I found endearing.

Incredibly brutal and deadly life opening the American West

Following the life of the legend, John Johnson, known at the liver eater! Shocking how brutal life was in Rocky Mountains in the mid 1800’s for Native Americans and white man alike. Narration followed the time period and accents very well.

Excellent

I hated for it to end. We owe a great debt to this man & those that were similar to him.

The Movie had nothing on this

I'm a huge fan of Robert Redford's Jeremiah Johnson, but I have to admit that it's a distant second to this book. Understandably, you can't cram everything into a movie that you find in the book, but having an accurate account of the life of the legendary mountain man portrayed by the narrator is extremely satisfying to one who is hungry to learn as much as he can about Johnson. It was also interesting to see that DelQue was much of the book's support. There was much more to comment on, but I also want to give a huge note of gratitude to the narrator's performance...superb to say the least!.
