Resumen del Editor

Four years ago, 17-year-old spelunker Carter was killed in a cave collapse. The coroner deemed it an accident.

Sullivan Gray knows better.

A camping weekend with his brother Dez takes an unsettling turn when Sully sees Carter’s shattered spirit, a sighting that reveals the teen’s death was, in fact, murder.

The brothers launch an investigation - a job complicated by a marital infidelity case Dez has been handed and the fact Sully remains little more than a ghost himself.

Having once escaped his own death inside a collapsed cavern, Sully knows the dangers lying beneath the earth’s surface. And those dangers only increase when it turns out those at the heart of the mystery - including Carter himself - will stop at nothing to keep their secrets buried.

The Sullivan Gray Series is mystery and suspense with a paranormal twist and the brother dynamic of shows like Supernatural.

You shouldn't miss this series

I've already read this story in ebook format and I loved it. So when the audiobook came out, I couldn't resist, particularly because I find John Downey's narration superb. And because it's a wonderful excuse to revisit the story :P

And the second time was as good as the first one. You know a story is great when even when you know what's coming you are still sitting at the edge of your chair with your heart racing a mile by the minute. Oh, that part in the cave! After reading it, I will never, ever, set foot in a cave. Never!

The mystery is, as always, fantastic. We follow Sully and Dez while they try to understand what happened to Carter four years ago. At the same time, Dez is investigating a case for Lachlan and, strangely, both of them seem to be linked.

And when the end arrives, believe me, the answer is totally unexpected and yet, completely logical. My favourite kind of mystery :P

And then, we have Sully and Dez relationship. They are still each other's rock, but it's undeniable that Sully's 'death' has provoked quite a bit of damage. Dez is trying really hard to get over his anger but is not an easy task. And Sully still has to be completely honest with him about all the 'whys' of it. He's rightfully afraid of Dez' reaction to the news of Lowell Braddock being the one responsible for the death of both, his little brother and his father. And Dez is still sitting on his own secret regarding Sully's father, so things will probably get a lot worse before they get better.

Eva is here, too, and I still love her strength, her common sense, her loyalty and her capacity for love. Emily has her moment, too. And her chat with Dez is a perfect example of how wise and compassionate she is.

Forbes is back too, an unwilling ally who proves to be trustworthy when the push comes to shove *laughs*

So, yes, this is still a great story in a great series, and if you still haven't tried it, you should go and get Black Candle, the first book in this series, and get ready for a breathtaking ride.
