Sweet Romance with likeable characters

I liked the people in this small mountain town. The twin boys are cute and funny. The widow mom is sweet and appealing. The hero, former soldier and handyman is strong and romantic. The Retired Major and former nun are two wonderful additions to the storyline and their romance as satisfying as the widow and handyman. There is much tension when town and widow is threatened by a group of villains and saved by the hero.

Great story

I really enjoy audiobooks that have two readers. This book had the right amount of humor and whats gonna happen next to them.

Goobies

From the start I was rooting for Cal and Cate. I love that he played the long game and waited. It was nice to see Care recover on her own time. Love those twins.

Howards most laid back Hero~ I like it~ 4 STARS

Widow Cate has twin boys to raise in Trail Stop. When Handyman Calvin stops 2 men from holding her at gun point we soon know some one is out to GET Cate. When a Guest at Cate's B&B disappears along with the mysterious FLASHDRIVE he carries along with him. Cate and the entire town of Trailstop are soon under siege with a para miliary gang who want the flash drive at all costs. This is a fun. Cate is clueless that handiman Calvin one of the most laid back of all Howards stud hunks is hopeless in love with her, and he is barely on any ones radar. When he drops 2 men with guns to save Cate we learn the quiet guy is ex military. The shy handiman turn hero is very good in this one. I give this 4 STARS for first rate story and characters and very good reader~ and one of the more interesting characters Calvin who shows us sometimes the quiet ones are the most fun.

Intriguing story

I’ve loved this book ever since I read it so many years ago. I love that Cal was a quiet presence in Cate’s life for so many years until she was finally ready to move on from her dead spouse. The action and drama in this story is the perfect blend. The dual narration by Joyce and Dick is very good. They give all the characters good distinctive voices. Don’t skip this one!

I loved the character Cal - his shy side and then his Rambo side.

I read this book at least twice in the past and just now finished the audiobook. The audiobook was fantastic. It’s read by Joyce Bean and Dick Hill, with each of them narrating the female vs male parts. (And you don’t hear their breaths - yay!)

STORY BRIEF:
Layton is accountant for bad guy Bandini. Layton has a flash drive with evidence against Bandini and asks for blackmail money. Bandini hires two killers (Goss and Toxtel) to get the flash drive back. They follow Layton's trail to a small town in Idaho. They pull a gun on Cate. Cal saves her. They didn't get the flash drive and they want revenge on Cal. They hire more killers to help them. Cal and the town fight back against unbelievable odds.

Narrative mode: 3rd person.
Genre: romantic suspense.

So GOOD!

What did I like about this book? Everything! The narrators did an excellent job with a wonderful storyline. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.
