Cotton accompanied his brother on the Pawnee Trail. Judge Chambers in Kansas City appointed Cotton a deputy US Marshal and his brother has been promoted to the rank of Major and transferred.

This is the second book in this series. I like Cotton Cooper. In this book Cotton is sent to Colten first to clean up an outlaw problem. Then he 1is sent to help his brother with Indian problems.
