Corruption, simply defined as the abuse of entrusted power for private gain, is an important global and historical problem imposing political, economic, and environmental costs on societies around the world. It is also a complex issue having many dimensions and multiple layers.Besides its universality, corruption is not a new phenomenon. It is as old as human beings started living together and established some form of state to run their affairs Notwithstanding the above, we must admit that corruption is far more pervasive in developing countries than it is in the developed world. his E-Book is an attempt to gauge the pervasiveness of corruption and corrupt practices in the developing countries, find out its causes and lay down a framework for its minimization, if not total eradication. For this, I have suggested a set of recommendations in the last three chapters before the conclusion, i.e., chapters seven to nine, of the book. Chapter 2 deals with perspectives on corruption including the issue of arriving at a precise definition of corruption as well as its various facets. Chapter 3 is about the causes & conditions conducive for Corruption Chapter 4 of the book explains the way corruption is measured in a country for categorising countries as the most corrupt or the least. It also highlights the limitations of these methods for having a proper perspective. and global comparison.while Chapter 5 enumerates the costs-social, economic and political, of widespread corruption in the country. It debunks the idea that corruption serves as speed money in a developing country for accelerating the modernisation process. Total nonsense. Política Pública Política y Gobierno Social Socialismo
