In Converging Desires, as Yanci Golden and Gus Dunaway converge on their desire to marry, others converge with conflicting desires. Wilbur Zane’s desire is to silence Yanci—permanently—so that she cannot testify against him in his trial for the death of Agnes Hume, his associate Herman Hume’s wife. Laura Jones and Wesley Franklin desire to relieve Yanci and Gus, by whatever means necessary, of the reward they have received for the return of money stolen from the Bonne Chance riverboat casino. Eddie McBee and Thor Waverly also desire to obtain some of that reward money—so that they can repay Easy Mike Braxton before he sends his goons to collect. Not all of these characters survive.
