The story takes place in Africa with adventure and excitement in the Congo Basin Rainforest, Congo River, and a small African village by the ocean. A terrible storm with hurricane force winds destroys some of the small village where Congo and Will live. Congo's cage is blown over, and Congo flies away during the storm because he is so frightened by it. Will, his mother, and some natives from one of the local tribes search for Congo deep in the jungle of the rainforest. Congo has never been in the wild before. Children learn all about protecting the animals and the rich tropical rainforest of Africa. An activity game is at the end.

He thought crocodiles were a dead-end research topic - survivors from the age of the dinosaurs but not much else - until he witnessed groups of up to seventy alligators performing mating choruses that included infrasound vibrations - a form of communication extremely rare in nature.

Half of all species could disappear by the end of the century, and scientists now concede that most of America’s endangered animals will survive only if conservationists keep rigging the world around them in their favor. So Jon Mooallem ventures into the field, often taking his daughter with him, to move beyond childlike fascination and make those creatures feel more real. Wild Ones is a tour through our environmental moment and the eccentric cultural history of people and wild animals in America that inflects it.

John Marshall had read about the growth of voluntourism, and frankly, it was the only kind of extended trip he could afford. He'd heard that some peoples' lives were changed by a week of overseas service - what might half a year accomplish for his family? His wife, Traca, was all in favor of it; his kids, especially his 14-year-old daughter, were strongly opposed. Wide-Open World is the totally engaging, bluntly honest story of the Marshall family's life-changing adventure.

Historia
Boyd Varty had an unconventional upbringing. He grew up on Londolozi Game Reserve in South Africa, a place where man and nature strive for balance, where perils exist alongside wonders. Founded more than 80 years ago as a hunting ground, Londolozi was transformed into a nature reserve beginning in 1973 by Varty’s father and uncle, visionaries of the restoration movement. But it wasn’t just a sanctuary for the animals; it was also a place for ravaged land to flourish again and for the human spirit to be restored.

TRAVEL TO AN AFRICAN SAFARI!
Any additional comments?
Little Will from Oklahoma travels to Africa and falls in love with the culture, the animals, and the rainforest. The narrator brings this story of Africa to life. She has incredible talent as a voice artist. It is full of excitement and adventure for children as they go on the journey with young Will in Africa. This book is very exotic and educational.
