An absolute delight.

Those of you who've been turned off or intimidated by Mann's denser works, e.g., "The Magic Mountain" or "Doctor Faustus" - have no fear of this delightful masterpiece: it is thoroughly engaging and entertaining from start to finish. The novel is defined by the very distinctive voice of the title character, and Mark Elstob's brilliant performance captures all of Felix's narcissistic charm perfectly. Highly recommended!
