the story i needed to hear

I loved this book from the start. I cant believe it took me a while to read/listen to it. I guess I wasn't ready for it until now. I wont include any spoilers. It was the book I needed to hear. Anna Burke is a masterful story teller. I am so grateful for lesfic. Thanks for sharing your gift of writing with us all Anna Burke.

Great mix of pirate fantasy with lesbian romance

Absolutely loved the pirate lore and action in Compass Rose. The angst between the mains is palpable. Wasn’t a huge fan of the “and now use your imagination” tactic used for the hook up scenes, although they were tastefully done besides that. Maybe I’m just a dog 😏

So much better than expected!

Loved this book! Full bodied story, just what I needed, surpassed expectations by far. Must listen!!

original and entertaining

What a uniquely original concept for a story. Read it in an afternoon, couldnt stop

Wonderfully written and narrated nautical adventure! Could not have asked for a better read for the long flight

I'm sure the book was great

it was interesting enough to keep me listening even though I didn't like the narrator. I would give her 2.5 stars if that was an option. All in all I liked the story and the characters. I wish I'd read it before I listened to it if that makes any sense.

Great listen plus who doesn't love pirates

Overall the story was great. I wish there was a better explanation for Rose's ability. It was hinted that her lineage was more significant but it was never touched on. I also wish the narrator's voice was better able to flex between some of the female characters. At some points I couldn't distinguish between Rose or Miranda. But I must say still enjoyed it and it's take on how our planet could be if we don't take care of it. Not sure I'd want to be stuck on a ship the rest of my life.

Fast paced, dystopian adventure on the high seas. Pirates, blood, gore, krajen, and bad ass broads.
