Coming to America: A Selection of Short Stories, tells the metaphorical and physical journeys of 11 Vietnamese writers, all immigrants or refugees from Vietnam. They traveled dangerous paths through the Atlantic Ocean before making their way to the United States of America in the 80s and 90s.
Some stories share vivid memories of the escapes, which were close to death and starvation. Other stories share many struggles of adapting to the new land. You will be touched and amazed at the Vietnamese people’s most powerful trait- resilience. The obstacles have made them strong, thankful loving, caring, and compassionate to others.
