Great short story with good readers
This story is a single mother romance with some twist. The female lead has had a bad start to life and looks to escape with the wrong type of person. She later runs out with her young child to start a new life.
Staying with family now and recovering from past traumas. She meets this playboy hockey guy that is a shell of him self.
The relationship grows fast and they start to see a future before both there past starts chasing them down.
All together this story was really sweet. They really go into a lot of detail in a short time and was able to pull the storyline together. The relationship seemed kinda rushed at some points.
The lead characters had a lot of depth to them. You can feel the hardships of the mother and how she tries so hard to be the best even when she’s hurting. The male lead was a good guy and knew what he wanted.
This book has romance, steamy bits were few but played well into the story, mystery of what happened kept you guessing, and the drama was well played.
The only down side on my part was some of the choices the characters made. It’s like watching a scary movie and screaming at the screen for them not to go in there. This book had that. In a way that made it good too. Pulled you in the story to care enough.
Readers did a wonderful job. Troy amazing as always. They played well off each other for nearly the whole book. The only part I disliked was the voice she read for the bad guy. Sounded bad and not a grown man. That part was little compared to rest of book so still great.
The reading was able to pull emotions through and take you into the story.
