Great Story, Very Good Performance

I've loved this book for years, and Jim Weiss does it justice. I was a bit reluctant to listen, since I was afraid a lackluster would tick me off; but this reader was exciting to listen to. The only possible gripe I had was his pronunciation of one word, but then I'm very picky. Mr. Weiss, unlike most readers of horse stories, gives me the impression that he actually knows what he's reading about and finds it as thrilling as I do!

I knew nothing of horse racing. I learned so much and enjoyed every minute of the reading. I am also a particular fan of Ralph Moody.

Wonderful piece of Americana!!

Seabiscuit is my favorite movie. I realized from Moody's narrative that the screenplay was adapted mostly from Ralph Moody's book. It was excellent that there were beautiful details contained in the book that are absent in the movie.

This is one of the greatest stories of overcoming unbelievable adversity by any person or thing.

Riveting: Better than the movie

The true to life details would have been hard to stomach in a movie, but the grit and determination of this wonderful horse and the people around him are so much more inspiring than the Hollywood version I have previously watched.
