Love in the midst of danger

I loved, loved this book. Strap in for this roller coaster ride of a romantic suspense tale. It was just so good. This author does such a phenomenal job of weaving together exhilarating action, palpable tension, plot twists, mystery, and spicy romance. It makes for an unputdownable edge of your seat story. Rowena is an English librarian in Zimbabwe hoping to discover the identity of her biological father. Kurt is a senior FBI agent with HRT in Zimbabwe trying to track down one of the FBI’s most wanted terrorists. Their paths cross when Kurt is trying to get information from an old friend and the friend happens to be someone Rowena is hoping has information she needs. When Rowena finds Kurt’s business card near the murdered friend, she calls him for help just as he’s about to board a flight. When the plane crashes without Kurt onboard, he knows it is no accident. He and Rowena begin a desperate race toward safety and away from an unknown enemy. Despite their circumstances and Kurt’s reluctance because of their age difference, their chemistry sizzled off the page and it pulled them together no matter how hard they tried to resist especially since they only have each other to rely on. I love the added plot device of the POV from Jordan, Kurt’s FBI partner back in FBI headquarters, in addition to the dual POVs from the MCs. This was a great way to show us what was going on elsewhere while Kurt and Rowena are in Africa far from his team and out of communication. The story had all the good things you’d expect with this genre - engaging dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and a captivating storyline as shown through sweet moments, strong friendships, real life issues, imperfect characters, dangerous moments, mystery, uber protective men, smart women, secrets, painful pasts, evil actors, and love. I love this series.

Eric G. Dove did a phenomenal job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly.

I have nothing bad to say about any of the books in this series. Each has been interesting and entertaining. Her work is outstanding! Eric Dove does a wonderful job with each book. I will continue reading and listening to this series until the end.

Montana's great story!!

I was skeptic at first but not even half way through I was hooked! This ended up being my favorite story of the series. Don't let the "age gap love" interested deter you. Montana is now my secret crush 🥰
