Brock Osprey has spent years in the rugged Alaskan wilderness, far from civilization and even farther from his past. A former Navy Seal, Brock is now the unwilling protector of Knife's Edge, a remote town with more secrets than residents. But when FBI agent Ophelia Spilazi arrives to investigate the unsolved murder of his guardian—and recent unexplained deaths in the area—Brock's carefully guarded world is thrown into chaos.

Agent Ophelia Spilazi has one last chance to save her career, and Knife's Edge is her shot. The isolated town is full of secrets, and she's certain Brock knows more than he's letting on. The town's recent string of mysterious deaths only heightens her suspicion, but the more time she spends with the brooding Alaskan, the harder it becomes to ignore the dangerous chemistry between them.

As a brutal storm traps them in the isolated wilderness, Brock and Ophelia's growing attraction ignites, even as shadows from their pasts threaten to tear them apart. But with a dangerous conspiracy and powerful enemies lurking in the shadows, their only hope is to trust each other-before the wilderness consumes them both.

Another success by Rebecca Zanetti! I loved this story so much and can't wait for the next book in the series! The characters are written perfectly and I enjoyed the way each character was written. The storyline grabbed my attention immediately and I was drawn into the story and didn't want to stop reading until I knew how it would end. I love the plot twists that you don't see coming and how the murderer isn't always the obvious choice. I think the way Rebecca Zanetti writes and keeps her readers engaged is truly a special gift and I love that so much. I read the Kindle book AND listened to the audible version and I feel the voice actor did an amazing job. I really appreciate that thus author usually has all versions of her books available on release day because for some books you have to wait for the audible version and that is frustrating so I'm happy that we don't have to wait with books written by Rebecca Zanetti! Overall, I would highly highly recommend this series. I loved book 1 and I cannot wait to read more. Perfect beginning of a very engaging and exciting series!

Phenomenal!

I’ve loved other Rebecca Zanetti books, particularly the Laurel Snow series, so was anxious for this one. Wow did it not disappoint. Ava Flynn’s narration is top notch, both female and male characters. Really enjoyed it.

Knife’s Edge, Alaska is a small, rugged town with many secrets. And missing people. And murder. FBI Special Agent Ophelia Spilazi is here to discover who killed her boss’ friend and save her career in the process. She meets Brock Osprey, the pilot bringing her to this remote town and discovers his connection to a murder victim. Plus he and his brothers appear to be suspects. But so do other townsfolk. Plus there are other missing persons and the weather? Well it’s bone chilling, dangerous freezing cold.

It’s all delicious suspense with a slow burn, swoony romance developing between Brock and Ophelia.

This story had me in a chokehold until the very end. Brock and his brothers are fascinating. I can’t wait for book 2!

Without giving away plot points, get ready for a lot of drama, suspense, twists and turns, fabulous townspeople, and an unlikely but real romantic connection.

Bring on book 2!

Outstanding narration; this story had me in a chokehold until the very end.

I absolutely LOVE discovering that one of my favorite authors has a brand new series and I didn't even hesitate to click the "buy" button.

In this book, we are introduced to MMC Brock Osprey who is an (retired) ex-Navy Seal currently living in the small Alaskan town of Knife's Edge, Alaska. Now this town is SO small and so off of the beaten path that you can only get to by plane. Add to that, once winter kicks in - there is no leaving the town until months later when winter is finished. Brock is one of 4 brothers (that I am also taking a guess to say that each brother is eventually going to get their own book) but he is a nice guy who the town has apparently voted him into the recently vacated position as Sheriff. Brock though, has not accepted the position, even though everyone is calling him "Sheriff" (It's kinda funny)

Enter in our FMC - FBI agent Ophelia Spilazi - who has problems of her own and has been sent to this small town to investigate the murder of one of its citizens. The victim just happens to be a long time friend of her boss at the FBI, and...oh....also happens to be Brock's adoptive father. Unfortunately, Ollie is on thin ice at the bureau and has been told that she basically needs to solve this case to keep her job.

It is fun to watch Ollie try to navigate the dramatically different social hierarchy of small town life, and even harder because she is poking around people who have known each other their entire lives trying to find the truth. It just so happens that there are certain people who may not want that truth discovered.

I enjoyed this. It is a really quick and easy read/listen that is not too long and does not require too much brain capacity. Our MMC decides pretty quickly that he wants our FMC and after that, you just know it is just a matter of time before she gives in. Oh, and she has to solve the murder too.

I listened to the audio version and Ava Flynn did an okay job with the narration. As I mentioned before, I am assuming that the next book is going to feature one of the three remaining brothers, so I'll be curious to see who is up to bat next.

Fun new series.

I am a Rebecca Zanetti fan.
But this book lacked the excitement and energy of her pass books. There was no surprise. No chase, No New Revelations, No extras, No exceptional humans or anything that makes you say Wow or Oh my. I was disappointed 😞 I believe her next series will be better and I will be waiting for it.

Dead of Winter

The story lacked any credibility from the depiction of the Native Barach, the omission of a key law enforcement agency, etc. The book ended with a number of unanswered questions.

The story lacked sufficient development; at times it was more of a cheap romance novel.
