Resumen del Editor

Five hundred years ago, Johannes Gutenberg discovered the art of libriomancy, allowing him to reach into books to create things from their pages. Gutenberg’s power brought him many enemies, and some of those enemies have waited centuries for revenge. Revenge which begins with the brutal slaughter of a wendigo in the northern Michigan town of Tamarack, a long-established werewolf territory. Libriomancer Isaac Vainio is part of Die Zwelf Portenre, better known as the Porters, the organization founded by Gutenberg to protect the world from magical threats. Isaac is called in to investigate the killing, along with Porter psychiatrist Nidhi Shah and their dryad bodyguard and lover, Lena Greenwood. Born decades ago from the pages of a pulp fantasy novel, Lena was created to be the ultimate fantasy woman, strong and deadly, but shaped by the needs and desires of her companions. Her powers are unique, and Gutenberg’s enemies hope to use those powers for themselves. But their plan could unleash a far darker evil....

GOOD CONTINUATION.

Isaac and Lena are again helping the people against evil. The action is fast paced and there are times very challenging for both Isaac and Lena. Most enjoyable and exciting. Will continue the next book. Excellent writing and good performance by David Devries. Worth a credit.

Character Expansion and More of the Original's Fun

When Hines wrote this sequel, I think he understood that the basic fun of the first one wouldn't be enough to sustain more. As any quality sequel should do, this one opens the world a bit more, asking questions not only about the nature of libriomancy as introduced in the first book, but also about the characters. Lena's character is the focal point as our primary characters are expanded upon, and the end result makes this story more satisfying. Even so, the basic fun that made the first one work is still here, and it's safe to say that if you liked the first, you'll like this one as well. I'm looking forward to seeing where the next book takes us.

As much fun as the first; eager for more!

The Magic ex Libris books are great fun and a unique twist among many enjoyable paranormal adventures on the shelves today. Hines does a great job providing action and intrigue with a sense of humor. In Isaac Vainio, Jim Hines continues to build a hero that sci-fi and fantasy fans can not only relate to, but feel like they could hang out with on a Friday night and in this second volume, Isaac's brilliant co-staring character Lena Greenwood comes more and more to life with each chapter.

David DeVries is an able reader, versatile, engaging, and easy to follow.

If you enjoyed Libriomancer, you don't want to miss this continuation.

Amazing. Good Follow up to Book One

If you have ever enjoyed reading a book, you will enjoy this book. The series is a celebration of books.

The sequel has all the light fun of the first. What starts of as everyday "I'm goin' to solve a murder" Quickly transforms into a wholly unique scenario that challenges the characters on multiple levels.

This novel is light entertainment, but well executed. After reading this book, Libriomancer is a book I recommend to EVERYONE.

Good story, terrible reader.

The story isn't bad at all and I wish I had read it instead of listening to this audiobook. The narrator is just not good. His female voices in particular sound really bad, more like a joke than anything else. I will be sure to avoid this narrator from here on out.

Very engaging, I loved it!

Narrator did a fantastic job, making every character personal and real. This book captured me just as fast as book 1.
