C. G. Blade
The Army's wounded warrior First Lieutenant Petra Kayden Dace is "regrown" into a nationwide conspiracy to subjugate the American people. Using a new experimental project called "Cobalt", which regenerates DNA memory within its own cell structure, a secret government facility becomes a target by the conspirators as well as Petra along with the microchip in her brain called "Terprise", who gives Petra grief over her vanity and addiction to fructose products. Petra uncovers shocking cryptic truths about the past as she starts to unmask corruption at the highest levels of our government in this action packed roller-coaster ride.
Filled with humor and pop-culture references leading to science-fiction writers, movies, and events, Cobalt is a genetically controlled twisted tale of regrowth, redemption, and renewal. This is the first book in the Trinity Series followed by the climatic Crimson, and the chilling Heliotrope.

Would you listen to Cobalt again? Why?
Yes I loved the way the narrator captured the characters. The subtle wit and sarcasm was related well. Tone of voice and general quality was amazing.Who was your favorite character and why?
TER, I loved her wit. I know she was just the inner workings but the narrator made you feel her frustration.."You could have for an orange". When she was unable to help, because of lack of memory (In the weapons part) you could feel her empathy for Petra, her concern.Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite scene was when Petra was facing Vick for the 2nd time and had no guns, Loved the quick thinking and the sarcasm that occurred there.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No extreme reactions, I was saddened when Petra related how she died to Jim. I could tell he was expecting more, I felt for him. I was teary when they both succumbed to the attack at the warehouse too.Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed the pace of the story, It flowed and kept my interest. I listened to the whole book in one sitting. I could not stop. The details and facts interspersed throughout the book made me wonder about the possibility. Will be getting many more of CG Blade's books.Twinkie addicted Super Patriotic Lady

Overall, I found Cobalt to be exciting, funny at times and very enjoyable. Anyone who likes steampunk, sci-fi or fantasy will enjoy this book.
While overall I did enjoy this book the first few chapters were a little slow in ramping up for me but once past that it really picked up.
C.G Blade has written a book that in my mind points out interesting things that are going on in the world today and focusing mainly on the United States. It highlights in dramatic ways how many of the freedoms Americans have are being slowly eroded away by greed and those seeking political power. In the world of fantasy as well as the real world it will take good people to stand up and take control in a country that was founded in part on the principle that government works for the people not the other way around.
I really liked the characters of Petra and Ter, they have a really good back and forth banter.
Get your box of twinkies, sit back and enjoy a good story that hopefully makes you think about the world around you.
Good start to the series
