Resumen del Editor

Is anybody out there, and what do they want with us? In June 1992, veteran reporter C.D.B. Bryan attended the Abduction Study Conferences at M.I.T. In this remarkable audio program, Bryan recalls the 4 days of the conference, during which he met with scientists, psychiatrists, physicians, and folklorists who have studied the growing phenomenon of alien abductions. He also retells the stories of men and women in attendance who claimed they had been abducted and examined by spindly limbed, telepathic gray creatures aboard extraterrestrial spacecraft. The author examines the validity of these accounts and what might be happening if the stories are not true.

UFO stories from very credible people!

What a great and informative book! I cannot recommend this strongly enough if you want UFO stories from very credible people.

Fascinating

An interesting conceit for a book about UFOs and aliens. The author went to a UFO conference at MIT co-hosted by John Mack; as he talked to people during the breaks, at dinner, and so on, he took notes and put it all together as a kind of rumination on the truth or falsity of the phenomenon. What he ended up with is a kind of ethnography of the conference. He managed to talk to a lot of abductees and experts in the field, such as Linda Molton Howe and Budd Hopkins. He even followed up with further meetings well after the conference had ended. It was interesting way of putting together different points of view on the subject. Although the author had no personal experience with UFOs or aliens, he comes to a fairly nuanced and open-minded conclusion. I only wished it was longer!

The narrator is terrific. His intonation and way of talking sounds like it's from 50s, but somehow it was really well-suited to the material.

Not what I expected

Only 4 chapters long and really No storie line. I was very disappointed in the book . I thought it was going to be more like a movie but instead it was a documentary nothing like Close encounters of the third kind. The book was terrible if you are interested in this you get much more out of the movie and you get to see live footage of actual events that have taken place .

Interesting, Kinda

Not really entertaining, just background noise on another road trip. It was like listening to one of those History Channel UFO programs but without the neato graphics and commercials. Not as compelling as The Mothman Prophecies but similar in nature. I didnt like that one either.
