Ella Fanning is an excellent narrator for the babysitter's club. I really enjoyed this book.

Delightful

Elle Fanning does a great job narrating the different characters in the second BABYSITTERS CLUB book. Also purchased for $1 on an audible sale. I wish I had been MG age when these books first came out.

More than nostalgia...

I decided to give The Babysitters Club books a listen primarily for the nostalgia factor, and they definitely deliver on that front, but they’re surprisingly enjoyable in their own right too. I loved these stories as a pre-teen and young teenager but haven’t read them in well over a decade. They are definitely made for the 8-12 age range but the characters are surprisingly well developed and the plots, while simple, are engaging. I’ve found Kristy’s Great Idea and Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls to be funny, lighthearted and even heartwarming to a certain extent. Elle Fanning does a nice job narrating. It took me a while to adjust to her voice, rather than hearing my own in my head, but ultimately the pace, tone, and inflections are all on target. I would 100% recommend these audio books to anyone who enjoyed the stories as a child, or to anyone aged 8-12 who likes audio books about friendship and mystery and school drama, or to adults looking for quick, lighthearted, family friendly stories.

A good ol' mystery

Nice break from formula. Love mystery novels. The only issue with this one was it jumped from POV to POV, so, it wasn't easy figuring out who was who, but, a fine book all around.

Nice but scary

I really liked this audiobook, but it gave me nightmares. In this book, Claudia finds out that there is a bandit on the loose. When she is babysitting, she receives a mysterious call. Could it be the Phantom Caller? When she answers, no one speaks! In the end, it is just a secret admirer. It was scary, bit entertaining! If your kid(s) get nightmares easily, I don't recommend this to them. If they are okay with scary, go ahead and read this!

A good Halloween listen.

Claudia was my favorite member of the BSC. I identified with her the most as a girl because we both loved art, junk food, and were not very good spellers. 
This was a fun and nostalgic listen for October.  It is set around Halloween and any of the scenes where the girls were baby sitting and the house was making noises were creepy-comedic. 
The end though, I didn't like (and I had forgotten) that the caller was a boy from school who liked Kristy. It was a bad lesson for to reward his bad behavior. On some level you have to excuse the ending because it was written in 1986. It would never be written that way today because now we know better, or at least we should.  
I did love how the girls made a plan for what to do if the actual burglar were to attack while they were baby-sitting, and I did love how smart Claudia was at the end when calling the police.

love the babysitters series, Claudia was and still is my favorite babysitter she's stylish and smart.
