We can only hope this gets picked up for a movie

I absolutely fell in love with these 2 books, pushing Patrick and claiming Cari. I really can only hope they pick this up for a movie. I just love this book. I really could love 1 more book.

Frustratingly hooked!

Ok… I am totally hooked on this series despite being so freakin’ frustrated! I am both happy and angry, unable to pick a side. But I think that is exactly what Megyn was trying to accomplish. There were times I wanted to skip ahead but that ran the risk of missing an important internal thought of Patrick or Cari or tidbits of info to other books in the series. I need to know what the heck is going on with Declan and Tess, and Connor!
Warning, there are spoilers to Connor, Declan and Tess’s books. In fact, I may read book 5 before 3 & 4 because it sounds like Declan and Tess’s story started before the rest. But it also sounds like some of Connor’s story happened before Cari came on board so I’m torn on which book to read next.
The only complaint I have is that I think it could’ve been shorter. While I was hooked a majority of the time, I wanted the ride to just be over about 3 quarters of the way through. I can’t even remember how many times they went from hot to cold, then cold to hot. Mostly because of Cari’s insecurities. It boggles me how she blocked Patrick out despite her history with him. But then again, the beast she brought out in him was so different from his norm it is believable (she can’t hear his dirty thoughts from day 1 after all). And why the heck did Cari’s exes get so much slack while Patrick got none! What the heck!
Anyway, I’m rambling because Megyn has my feelings one edge. It’s clear I’ll be an emotional roller coaster as read the rest of the series but I can’t help but be wrapped up in the drama!
So… if you don’t mind being tied up in knots, I recommend reading Patrick and Cari’s story.

So much miscommunication!

I loved the first book and close to loved the second. I was getting SO frustrated with the FMC and her back and forth, never saying how she felt, always reacting in the worst way possible. I felt like this entire book was both MMC and FMC assuming the absolute worst of the other every single time they spoke. And some of the assumptions were huge leaps. I get that it’s supposed to be about Carrie growing in her confidence and finally understanding and believing in her worth, but it was starting to get more frustrating than I felt I could handle. Thankfully, right at the point I was ready to just skip to the epilogue and be done with it, they got their acts together. Still worth the read. I really want to read Tesla and Declan’s story. I may skip Connor and Henley’s story because Connor doesn’t interest me much and Henley hasn’t been a character I’ve become attached to.

absolutely love Megan Ward. The found family in her books are some of the best. I read this series first, now listening to the audiobook was chef's kiss.

Cari and Patrick are even hotter

Reading was amazing, but listening was even better!! Megyn does and amazing job and I love being able to listen to my favorite books while I work!
