Resumen del Editor

1929. New York City. When a Wall Street banker appears to commit suicide in the wake of the stock market crash, Ava Gold, the city’s first female detective, suspects a murder. But with the city falling into crisis around her, Ava must race to prove her suspicions before the killer can walk free.

City of Vice (An Ava Gold Mystery, Book 6) is a new novel in a long-anticipated new series by number one best seller and USA Today best-selling author Blake Pierce, whose best seller Once Gone has received over 1,000 five star reviews.

In the rough streets of 1920s New York City, 34-year-old Ava Gold, a widower and single mom, claws her way up to become the first female homicide detective in her NYPD precinct. She is as tough as they come, and willing to hold her own in a man’s world.

The 1929 Wall Street Crash has hit, and Ava’s world is turned upside down.

Assigned to a new precinct, new location, and new partner, she must scramble to get her feet beneath her before time runs out. As she enters the chaotic world of Wall Street, Ava must fight to prove herself once and for all—before the case comes tumbling down around her.

A heart-pounding suspense thriller filled with shocking twists, the authentic and atmospheric Ava Gold mystery series is a riveting story, endearing us to a strong and brilliant character that will capture your heart and keep you listening late into the night.

Future books in the series will be available soon.

Blake Pierce’s Best Series!!!!

Ava Gold is the absolute best series Blake Pierce has going for her right now. I was also a huge fan of the Zoe Prime series but for some reason she abruptly stopped writing additional books in that series. It didn’t feel like it ended it just stopped, I still hope she will add to it or end it with a decent finale.
Anyway, this book is an excellent addition to this series Ava Gold is the widow of a fallen officer. After cornering his Captain and shaming him publicly to hire her so she can support her child she quickly proves herself to be a valuable investigator in NYC in 1929. At that time women were Dames and Broads and rarely taken seriously. Women police officers carried a whistle instead of a gun and most gave parking tickets. Ava grew up in her father’s boxing gym and is a force to be reckoned with. She soon made the newspapers and became the star of the precinct and granted the privilege of carrying a weapon. She’s been loaned to a different precinct because she is in an almost relationship with another male detective.
In this book a man jumps off of the top floor of the Chrysler building while it is under construction. The police deem it a suicide, Ava believes it is something else.
Kaden Kroll does a wonderful job narrating.
This book has my Very Highest Recommendation.
