Rags and riches. Monsters and mayhem. Demon lords and dragon gods. Wildlings and witch-spice
The enchanting world of Maradoum opens its doors to you once more in this seventh instalment of the series, all set in the same world as the Convent Series, beginning with A Dead Wizard’s Dream.
Journey from the fabled city of fabric in Paeu to the demon-infested landscape of Ishambria, from the Machiavellian scheming in Quing Tzu to the cat-littered crags of Al Kutz as you embark on a vivid voyage through this immersive high fantasy anthology, encountering along the way legendary Guardians, magic scarves, barbaric priests, duplicitous gods, cackling Witches, and wind-riders.
Featured in Chronicles of Maradoum Volume Seven:
The Dragon God
Wind-Riders
The Two-Faced God
The Garden
Rivals
The Demon Cauldron

I am a fan. I love the complex world of Maradoum with different cultures, an endless supply of stories and ethical issues. I do like happy endings, especially with a twist such as in the Wind -Riders and The Mouser's Scarf. I did not like The Two-Faced God, dark, dangerous and hopeless - the wheel turns. The Dragon God deserves a special mention for misplaced faith and is especially rewarding and thought provoking. The Lullabyer, the subject of the full novel, is introduced in Witch Spice Dreams. - what is reality? The best thing about short stories is that one can be read in a lunch break or on the train ride home. No loosing the thread while waiting to recommence the story.
I read the book when it was published and was delighted to find the audio book available. Yet another narrator, and Robin Coppeck slips into the role easily. Not a jarring note. I have listened to all seven volumes of Chronicles of Maradoum now, and loved them all. Enjoy this latest collection.
