get book 0 first it makes this one make more sense. great first book

Surprisingly wonderful

I came into this blind on author Jim Butcher's suggestion. This is great urban fantasy. it's much more gritty and brutal than others in the genre but told extraordinarily well in all the ways that count.

Unsatisfying ending

Liked the story overall, even if it was dark, but it ended very abruptly. You don't get to see the aftermath or know if they figure out what to do with the thing they find. Idk if I will read another

Fantastic read, great series

Original setting, great world building and pace. Really love the magic system the author has created. I’ve listened to the series twice and can’t wait for the next book.
