Can Chancy Pants win back Rory?

Chance is book 2 in the Ghost Ops series, a spinoff of the HOT Strike Team 1 and Strike Team 2 series. We follow Chance and Rory as they traverse fears, stress, and danger from multiple fronts while trying to find ground as a couple and future parents.

Blaze, book 1 in the series, ends with Chance carrying Rory to the hospital due to her diabetes and the actions taken by the villain in the story. Chance and Rory had a two week affair where he took care of her in all ways while she recuperated.

Chance opens with a bang. When Rory receives visitors, she greets them with Liza Jane. These visitors make her an offer, but she refuses.

Shortly after this visit, strange happenings start occurring. Happenstance or vandalism?

Chance decides Rory needs someone to look out for her at the farmhouse. So, of course, he moves in and is her protector. What he did not expect was the surprise he finds in the bathroom. When he confronts Rory about it, she tells him about it and how she is feeling about it.

Rory is a type 1 diabetic. She wears an insulin pump and a continuous glucose monitor (CGM). With this new twist in their story and relationship, both Chance and Rory are worried about the ramifications for her health. Until she sees the doctor, she does not know. She knows what she has been told by doctors and what she has read about, but now she is facing reality and needs more information.

Chance is very understanding and always wants to know what works best for her. He asks her how she wants things done. He asks her when her CGM goes off if she needs some juice. He asks her about what to expect and what he can do to help and what he should look for. He is the consummate perfect man.

And when Rory is threatened, it is Chance and the Ghost Ops men that come to the rescue.

But will Rory accept that Chance is there to stay? Will Chance be able to change her mind about wanting marriage and a family? And here is the ultimate question, will Rory be able to handle what Chance and the Ghost Ops guys really do? She has her suspicions, but suspicions and reality are never the same.

This book was a really hard read for me. It is a very personal story for me. Rory's story is my story. What I would love to see is a their story in 20 to 30 years. Did she suffer any complications? How are they managing the complications as a couple. Health issues are a true test of a relationship, even controlled ones.

I love that Rory names everything. The deer, the trucks, and Chancy Pants. She truly lives life to the fullest and makes the best of everything she is given. That attitude is what will get her through anything. You go girl!!!

And Chance. Gawd what I would have given to have met a man like you sooner.

And to people who read this review, please note that if you know a diabetic, do NOT ask them if they should really be eating something. It is the most offensive thing you can do. Yes, we can eat anything, as long as we cover it with insulin.

Avery Caris is a new to me narrator and her take on Rory is spot on. How she handles the bar, the farm, Chance (and the other guys), the threats and life is how I would hope I would handle them. And Aaron Shedlock proved to be a caring and concerned Chance without being overbearing (mostly).

Great story

Rory and Chance's story was an action packed romance. Rory had been hurt in the past and was afraid to love anyone. Chance wasn't looking for love, but once he saw Rory behind the bar, there was no one else for him.

This is an action packed story with alpha Chance protecting what is his and making him see that their happily ever after is possible. He makes Rory see what is possible and that they could have a wonderful future if he can keep her safe.

I love these series with all of the men getting their women and protecting them. Rory was a little head strong for me at times and I wanted to roll my eyes, but I loved how Chance handled her.

This is a great story and the ending of this book leaves me wanting book 3 bad! Great story!

The narrators were great. I couldn't wait to hear what happened next.

Enemies To Lovers...And More

What can I say about Lynn Raye Harris' latest release, CHANCE??? Well, here's the thing...When the first book of this incredible series came out, I was ecstatic! With the book, the ecstatic feeling multiplied by a hundred. I absolutely love Chance and Rory!!! Those two are like oil and water. It's amazing! I throughly enjoyed this enemies to lovers trope. I suggest you RUN, not walk, and get your own copy of CHANCE! Congratulations, Lynn Raye Harris, on another wonderful Ghost Ops story!!!!!

Another amazing story. Chance and Rory’s story will completely suck you in from the beginning and keeps you hooked with some suspense. I love the banter, the bonds and the sizzling chemistry. It’s fun and entertaining story. Looking forward to reading more.

I absolutely love this book! It’s a great story! I love Rory and Chance! I love the nickname that Rory gives Chance! Chancey-pants!! The narrators did a great job bringing both characters to life! Ghost Ops is definitely a series not to be missed! I can’t wait for the next book!! Lynn Raye Harris is a master with words and the worlds she builds is awesome!
