Resumen del Editor

A deliciously charming novel about finding true love...and yourself. Nothing ever happens in Little, California. Which is just the way 17-year-old Carter Moon likes it. But when Hollywood arrives to film a movie starring former child star-turned public relations mess Adam Jakes, everything changes. Utterly annoyed, Carter feels like the only girl not buying what Hollywood's selling. Then Carter gets an offer she can't refuse: Play the part of Adam's girlfriend while he's in Little, to improve his public image, and take home a hefty paycheck, which her family desperately needs. So instead of a summer hanging out with friends and working, Carter begrudgingly poses for the tabloids but soon finds that Adam isn't who she thought. Worse yet, she might actually be falling for him. As they grow closer, their relationship walks a blurry line between what's real and what's fake, and Carter must open her eyes to the scariest of unexplored worlds - her future. Can Carter figure out what she wants out of life and get the boy? Or are there no Hollywood endings in real life?

Explained

The writer got enthusiastic explaining what she wanted the reader to understand. Didn't leave enough room for the reader to personalize the story. Made it a little hard to dream with the characters!

So Enjoyable! Read it or listen to it or both.

What made the experience of listening to Catch a Falling Star the most enjoyable?

Beautifully captures the quiet moments and the truths we tell to strangers, or in unguarded moments. This story is insightful, heartwarming, and smile generating. It is a wonderful story to read or listen to or both. It may be classified as YA, but it can be enjoyed by all ages. Listen to it, share it, and talk about it!

What other book might you compare Catch a Falling Star to and why?

Kim's other books Songs for a Teenage Nomad and Instructions for a Broken Heart are both wonderful reads that have not been made available in audio format. So I was so excited when Catch a Falling Star became available.

Have you listened to any of Erin Spencer and Andrew Eiden ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but they did a wonderful job reading this story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Definitely!

Not a YA Romance - it's a coming of age story

This showed up under YA Romance and it just isn't a romance novel. It's a really good book the writing was excellent. It's just a matter of that this was a coming of age story it was all about the Carter and not a developed story between Carter and Adam. This is all about the I and not about the us. If you know what you're in for it will not disappoint. This is actually a pretty heavy story. I think some of the negative reviews are because everything is misleading. Even having Andrew Eiden as a narrator is misleading he reads for maybe a total of 10 minutes and that's being generous so it presents as though you're going to get a balanced narrative of between two characters. I had to listen at a 1.1 because the performance was slow but once I made the adjustment I thought it was great.

Aww

This was just too adorable. I totally have a weakness for stories about celebrities falling for an everyday girl. This was so sweet and I really enjoyed it.

The More I Think About it, the Less I Like It

This started out okay, and it had great potential as a Hollywood star falls in love with a small town girl story. It just fell flat, and I took off an extra star for the ending, which was a huge, disappointing cliche.

I thought we might end up somewhere awesome, but instead, it came off as too convenient and pretty blah. I honestly don't even remember that final scene....

I guess for a Hollywood book, I wanted a real slam-bang type of finish, and this was every lame, romantic comedy you've ever watched and now you're supposed to be happy because it has an HEA (Happily Ever After). I just wasn't that happy or interested by the end. I was bored and a bit disappointed, which was unexpected.

Guess this one wasn't for me, but if you're a sucker for anything that ends happy (which I thought I was, but apparently not), this might be for you. It had elements of charm, but it doesn't touch Katie McGarry, Rainbow Rowell, or Stephanie Perkins.

Long winded, teenagers acting like 30 year olds

I found myself losing concentration quite often. Very long winded. Going in to deep consents about Everything. Ending was lacking when the whole rest of the book was too in-depth . This is not a fun easy read.
