When her mate, Nick Axton whom she knew the minute laid eyes on one another who happened to be an ALPHA wolf refused to claim her, yet couldn’t stop interfering in her life, she knew she had to get away. Shaya took off hiding and posing as a human in a town full of extremists groups who were totally anti-shifters. Shaya never expected Nick Axton to show up looking for her, but lo and behold here he was. Even though he had health reasons for not claiming her, he just couldn’t let her think he didn’t care for her and he can’t bear the thought of never seeing her again. While extremists, rogue wolves, and other packs start sniffing him out - Nick knows a battle is brewing and he certainly can’t leave Shaya on her own, no matter how capable she seem to feel that no one would suspect her as a shifter.

I was totally entranced with this series from from the beginning, especially the introduction of Trey and Taryn - one very wise-cracking and hilarious heroine staring in Book One - FERAL SINS. And even as things seemed to get more and more sexy and erotic well I just chalked it up to using fillers to make up page counts. But actually, after awhile, the angst of - she protests too much - and Nick trying to make Shaya realize how important she truly was to him just tipped the scale for me into a ‘give him a break moment’ where I wanted to shake some sense into her.

Bottom line: I really enjoy the concept of shifters in my paranormal world, but I rather like more substance and story than so much blow-by-blow descriptions of the act. The one redeeming quality I truly appreciated was Nick and Shaya blowing open and stopping the extremists of torturing the unsuspecting shifters who were forced into unspeakable horrors. Not bad - just not great.

I adored this one too! Shayla was awesome, even though I wasn't sure that I'd like her as a submissive. That said, it'd be nice to see a true submissive in this series get a book!

I was surprised the author made me like Nick in this one. He wasn't a favorite after the previous books, but in this one? Awesome!

Why?

Far too much gratuitous vulgarities. Good story, lots of American articulate which overwhelmed certain scene to the point of destruction.

I liked it a lot, not as much as the first one though. it sorta drug out in places but was very good anyway.

Funny and sexy

If only I could do what Shiya did. I laughed so hard and it made the steamy so much more sexy.
