Releasing Inner Demons

This is a wonderful story about the guilt and horrors of war that men carry with them after they return home. These soldiers now fight a different battle; one which some never win.
Christian Villiers is one of these men. He’s covered the scars he bears by roguish living. Thrust into the position of Marquis, he’s inherited with the title an insurmountable debt. He needs to marry for money: For now he’s responsible for his mother, sister, and his unusual staff made up of former soldiers.
Prudence Tidemore is a romantic. Her family has suffered two scandals that hang over her and her younger sisters’ heads. That makes her a wallflower because no one in the ton of Regency England wants to be attached to a scandal.
A chance meeting between the two sets in motion a whirlwind of events and emotions. No matter what, they can and will not be together.
I totally enjoyed this book. At first I feared it would be a mirror of the first book in the series, but it was much more. I was engaged with the characters as they wrestled with their emotions and their situations. It’s a great storyline, made better by the fact that the author spent time with former military men who suffered the same guilt and shame. Of course I recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading stories of redemption and the power of love.
The Audible version is narrated by Tim Campbell. Although he’s not my favorite, I think he did a good job with this book. He brought Christian to life in a deeply satisfying way.

Nasty guardians

I dislike the fact that these guardians nasty behaviors towards there charges are never address... I long for the day I read or listen to one of these Regency novels and witness these young ladies or men stand up to there parents or guardians and give them a realgood set down. I dont think we needed all the nastiness and bitterness in this story. Sins nastiness or the little sister's nastiness was not necessary only took away from the story

Charm and Determination Good Second Instalment

Being in love is a beautiful thing. However, being in love and being determined to get the one you want is what I appreciated about Prudence. This is another good story by CC. The characters and supporting characters round out the book so well. Also, I like the way the book makes you wonder how certain things/information is bought to the forefront. This book will not disappoint

I Am Captivated.

Love this book. The story is amazing. So many twists & turns. Christi Caldwell writes amazing characters who are imperfect & that makes them the best ones to read about. Tim Campbell does an amazing job on narration. The book is wildly romantic & funny. I laughed at many moments. Great stand alone or get the series. I love this family. .

Captivated by a Lady’s Charm

Cute story of a young lady who is making her first season with many obstacles. It seems her family has made serious scandals, which has impacted her ability to make a match. She meets her husband by chance and was instantly attracted to him as he was with her, but he feels unworthy. This story is of their courtship.

Lovely

I was captivated by this sweet story. Full of faith, love and forgiveness. Christian and Prudence prove that love is worth fighting for even for a young starry eyed miss and a man who feels he will never deserve her. Christi Caldwell is a master at weaving a tale of love and Tim Campbell brings her stories to life.

Good story, horrible narrator.

I like most of her books, however, I have a hard time with Tim Campbell's narration. Why do all the men sound like dock workers? He should use his normal speaking voice rather than the ugly rough voice he uses for men of the nobility. He should narrate horror stories or spy thrillers, not romance novels.

Perfect

This book held a lot of emotions for the characters and it was portrayed beautifully by the author. I hope the evil villain gets a book of his own.

Boring and too tame

I have three hours left and I couldn’t care less what happens. Blah blah blah. No heat or passion. This is my first Caldwell book. I might try one more before bailing. Mia Vincy and Loretta Chase offer much better of the same and I definitely prefer Roslyn Landor over Tim Campbell. Waste of time for me.
