My Favorite Giselle Lumas Book Yet

Captain Of My Heart is a sweet romance that anyone from a small town can certainly imagine. When Cass and her 2 young children moved to a small town, she calls the fire department to rid her yard of a huge rattlesnake. When they answer the call, the dreamy and considerably older Captain Ray make quick work of their task. Ray invites her on a date and Cass enjoys comradely and is hopeful for this budding fondness for the man.

However, rumors abound of Ray's womanizing and the estranged relationship between Ray and his son. Is there more? Should she care? Will she be able to guard her heart against any pain he may cause her?

Captain Of My Heart is a sweet and realistic romance with unexpected twists and turns. I thoroughly enjoyed it. This is the 2nd book that I have listened to written and performed by Giselle Lumas, I look forward to hearing more.

A Good Book

This is a great book. It has a different turn of events. The narriater Wes excellent. I highly recommend this book it will keep your attention from start to finish

Captain of my heart

June/ December romance. Could have used a little editing. A good storyline with potential. Narration was fair, but not realistic. Looking forward to seeing more from the Author. I received this audible in exchange for my honest review.

Tha Captain

I enjoyed the story and the overall vibe of the book but was really surprised by the ending especially since it's not indicated that it's a series. I like that the leading female role had a mind of her own when she decided to listen but found her childish at times.

Sweet, quick listen with a surprise ending

Giselle Lumas wrote and narrated this audiobook. The listening time comes in at a little over two hours. Oftentimes, I find that these shorter novellas are missing huge chunks of the story, but Ms. Lumas did a good job creating a complete novella that didn't feel incomplete, though Cass and Ray did fall in love super quickly, but hey-it's a two hour audiobook, so some leeway needs to be given!

As far as the narration goes, it was easy to listen to, though I found that it didn't sound super natural, more like she was reading the words. There were little bits of over pronunciation, but nothing that couldn't be overlooked. It definitely didn't keep me from listening.

Overall, if you're in the mood for a nice little listen, this audiobook will do nicely. There isn't anything that would keep me from recommending it. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher for an honest review.

A twist that tugged at my heartstrings

Captain of My Heart is a short, easy listen that i finished in one sitting. Coming from a family of firefighters, this story definitely struck a chord with me. I could easily relate to some of the situations that popped up. I would love to see where Giselle Lumas takes the story.

Easy listen

This was an enjoyable short, sweet romance. It's filled with endearing characters and even a few twists I didn't expect. Giselle Lumas did an excellent job writing and reading it! I received a review copy at my request and voluntarily reviewed.

Good Listen

This short book is a standalone listen, yet only part of the story. It does not end in a cliffhanger, but is open for continuation. The book has some very unexpected twists that I did not see coming along with some endearing characters. I thought the author/narrator did a very good job conveying the emotions in this book and had some very realistic scenes. I would continue to listen to more books by the author/narrator. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review.

An Unexpected Treat

This is a new author for me so I did wonder firstly about the writing and then about the narration because an author reading her own book doesn't always work. But Giselle Lumas did a good job in writing and narrating this sweet but sad story. I liked her take on Cass and her deep, mellow portrayal of The Captain.

The story was a very touching love story about two lonely people who have both been hurt in their pasts slowly learning to trust and love again. Cass was dumped by her husband for a younger model, she's left to bring up their two children alone. She is stronger than she realized and is perfect for The Captain.

He stole my heart with his kindness, resolve and depth of character, in some ways he seemed too good to be true. This is a short but emotionally charged story with an ending that took me by surprise and made me very sad.

Some interesting possibilities are introduced in the epilogue, which makes me want to listen to the next book in this series.
