the author makes a decent effort to provide measures that are meaningful for readers, such as fold change, percent change, value adjusted for inflation, but still, the text is polluted by many obscure units and numbers, for example, the absolute price without adjustment for inflation has no value for the listener, it is just noise. lots of meaningless numbers.

Phenomenal! I rarely give reviews at all, but...

This deserves 5 stars and more! It's rare that works that address the political and economic history of america that claim non-partisanship actually deliver on non-partisanship, but this did. This is a very objective look at how we got where we are today and the major changes in society that led us to where we are for better and for worse. I don't know anywhere else you actually could hear a background of the military industrial complex and not be inundated with either an onslaught of rightwing propaganda or the liberal anti-military sentiments. Additionally this work also addresses the re-organization of political party vs. governing style and economic viewpoints throughout U.S. history which some may find confusing because (surprise) things like 'party of Lincoln' are modern day marketing slogans, not meaningful statements of value. I don't even know where you could read about money these days without some far right inflation hawk predicting the economic doom of the US. This is pure, TRULY unbiased, non-partisan explanation based in fact and history. I learned so much that I actually want to listen to the entire 16 hrs again, take notes, and do additional research. This was excellent and I plan to look for other content by the authors as well.

Best US economy history lesson I have ever learned; A great start for 2019. We are all adventures, seeking a fortune or making a name. So inspiring for me as an immigrant. If not us, who; If not now, when? Nice.

Love America more after listening to this book...

Example to the world about how to create a great nation. Nothing was free or granted for the great Americans who set up the engines of each heart to create the USA of today.

Capitalism in America is a fantastic walk thru capitalism in America

Loved the book and the narrator is excellent. The way it is written pulls you in and you can really invision the different time frames in History. Being 60 it brought back so many memories and explained why we felt certain ways in those times. Highly recommend the book.

Fantastic Historical insights

This book should be required reading for every high school or college in America. The history contained in this is INCREDIBLY interesting, valuable, and useful in its depth and detail equipping the reader to think about the current socio-economic place that America finds itself in today.

You may not necessarily like, or agree with the positions the writer takes. But purely for the sake of all being more i formed about the state of our country i hope more readers pick this up.

Forewarning due to the extent to which this book focuses on laying out facts it can certainly be dry. But the details are really amazingly interesting to anyone who is curious about business, the creation of wealth, and general socio-economic topics.

Great Look at US Economic History

Great book spends a lot of time on the great accomplishments of American Entrepreneurs, the political battles that brought to where we are today. Sort of like one long thread but history certainly does repeat itself.
