Resumen del Editor

"Why are you still sad about that?"

It takes time and space to grieve well, but often our culture doesn't afford us these things. Drawing from her own experience with grief, Natasha Smith invites us into a reflection on what it means to grieve and how to cling to hope even in our darkest moments. Instead of providing quick-fix solutions, this book creates space for us to take time to just sit and grieve, learn, and heal in healthy ways.

In Can You Just Sit with Me? Smith provides personal stories, biblical reflections, relevant research, practical tools, and prayers that point us to God, who always sits with us in our grief. Whether we are grieving a loss or supporting a friend who is grieving, this book reminds us that every loss is worthy of the space and grace to grieve.

SO. GOOD!!!

Tender and compassionate, yet also somehow truthful and uncompromising - I feel that Can You Just Sit with me may be the best book I’ve ever read on the topic of grief. It’s comforting to read about many of the author’s personal stories of tragedy and loss, and somehow find my own story in them. It’s a book wrought with scripture that meets you where you are but then somehow leaves you in a better place than it found you. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who finds their soul in need of healing.

Incredibly helpful and a joy to listen to

This book was exactly what I needed to hear. I felt like I was sitting with a friend who has experienced grief and loss, helping me understand how to live and love well. I’m so grateful to Natasha Smith for her depth of character and for taking the time to share her wisdom and experience!

Not all will resonate with some of her political perspectives, but for me it was helpful to hear her views and lived experience even if I viewed events differently. Skip over those portions if you must, reader, but don’t miss out on the wisdom this author shares. She is a dear sister and you will learn a lot. I’m grateful.
