Really enjoy listening to Meghan Kelly, but sadly this book was just OK for me.
I found Callie to be constantly looking for problems and creating issues for herself and Garrett.
Other than that, majority of the story was enjoyable and listening to Meghan is always a pleasure.

Through it all...

Everyone one knows that relationship are hard. But as you read this inspiring story of a man and woman. They will show you through unbeatable odds. That true love will always pull you through the darkest times. Be ready to hold on tight as this story with keep you on your toes. Enjoy because I sure did.

Sweet stroy

The story was well written, but it did have a couple spots where it dragged a little. The story had both a suspense and a HEA, and who doesn't like to read a HEA. The narrator did a great job with all of the characters that she had to work with. Overall, the main two characters captured my attention and this story could be real world. I would recommend the book if you are looking for hot cowboys and a female that can hold her own handling them.

Contemporary Western

A ranch, an arranged marriage, unusual accidents, animals dying, all these things adding up to a fun, yet suspenseful listen. When Callie was 17, her mother made an arrangement with Garrett O'Neil to marry Callie and take care of the land. Garrett willingly did this, and though he loved Callie and she loved him(feelings never shared) he let her go off to college to live her dreams. Upon her return after graduation, things changed dramatically. Callie came home with the dream of being a ranchers wife and help run the business. These two have a lot of obstacles they created themselves over the years to get through. Add in someone who wants their land, some cattle being killed, several mishaps that happen on the ranch and you get this romantic suspense sure to keep you interested as you listen. I really enjoyed the banter between Garrett and Callie, though at times I did feel Callie's immaturity shining through. I like strong female leads, and she definitely has a lot of spunk and vigor. Garrett is your typical hunky cowboy, he is very successful for his age and he has that protectiveness you can't help but love. There are some very interesting supporting characters I would love to keep seeing, like Stamos, I think he has a story worth telling and hope Kathleen Ball includes him in her continuation of the series.

Meghan Kelly just keeps getting better and better each and every time I listen to her. She has a soothing voice, with a quiet strength for Callie and a masculinity for Garrett that will make you melt. She definitely brings this story to life.

The book was okay

BOOK REVIEW.....
I really just could not get into this couple or their story. It just didn't feel real. Callie was too childish through most of it. At times I wanted to smack her. That brought the book down to only being just an okay read.

NARRATOR REVIEW.....
The narrator still needs to work on her male voices but over all her narrating was better then the book.

sexy cowboys

What an amazing listen! I love me a sexy cowboy and boy does this deliver. This has quite a bit of angst with suspense thrown in. My favorite. Love Meghan's work on here with all the different voices.

OIL-SLICK COWBOY COMPLICATIONS

Not sure how to write this because of so many, TOO many, twists and plots happening around an arranged marriage of convenience. Dying of cancer, Callie’s mother asked Garrett, an older and trusted neighbor, to wed her 17 year old daughter in order for to keep her ranch. The marriage wasn’t consummated but after 4 years of college, Callie returned home a virgin woman with every intention of changing that. She secretly loved Garrett, but her dream was crushed when she walked in on the new house keeper in his arms.
Garrett wasn’t much of a womanizer but when the housekeeper threw herself at him, he saw no reason not to enjoy some of the attention she offered. With Callie’s return he had to confront the confusing feelings he had for this beautiful woman who he’d always known as a child. He handles it very poorly. It’s sometimes hard to see the good guy that he really is.

Besides the up and down, love and hate, relationship issues, the livestock is being mysteriously slaughtered, fences are being destroyed, an oil company is trying to buy land, the housekeeper refuses to clean, the new ranch hand Stamos has his eye on Callie... Then there’s murder and fires and backwoods law....

Whew! Everything gets packaged up nicely in the end but WOW. There’s a lot happening. I admit that I did judge some wrong and a villain surprised me in the end.

Meghan has well developed character voices, even for the men. Her good narration helps carry the complicated storylines.

Suspenseful love story

I loved the banter between the characters! I laughed, cried, and dreamed when I read this book! Everyone needs a cowboy like this in their life!

Good storyline

I enjoyed listening to this book and listening to the narrator. This book was the kind that keeps you pulled into the story.
