Great for Pilates teachers

As a Pilates teacher this was a great history of our industry and origin story for Pilates. It was wonderful hearing from a clients perspective and not a teachers perspective

Matlock?

I enjoyed the book and it is inspiring me to try Pilates. The author’s voice reminds me of matlock, and the book’s got a little mystery and some courtroom scenes- there was something comforting and familiar feeling about it!

Disclaimer: My “reviews” of audiobooks are often very generic; however this book deserves a heartfelt review and appreciation.

I truly enjoyed listening to the author narrate his own story about the coming and evolution of Pilates; and his story and personal history with J. Pilates. It is evident the author has an immense amount of belief and dedication to the teachings of contrology and a deep affection towards the preservation and integrity of the man behind it.

Unlike many audiobooks, after only about an hour, I felt connected to Mr. Steel (the author) as if he was telling me (the listener) a story in my own living room. It really was an interesting, inspiring, and enjoyable book.

In a nutshell; if you’re interested in learning more about Pilates you should read or listen to this book; and or, if you’re interested in hearing a story of inspiration, persistence, and passion, you should read or listen to this book.

Thank you, Mr.Steel; you’re a treasure.

Excellent History of Joe Pilates

This was a great listen! As a student of Pilates for many years I really loved hearing from not only a student of Joe’s but a friend. Joe was a genius in my eyes and this book tells a rich vivid story of his life. There are parts of his life that remain a mystery. I highly recommend this book. I loved it!

A must read if you teach Pilates

It was hard to understand the author reading his memoir at times, but the story was so fascinating it made it worthwhile. I’ve been teaching this ingenious method for 8+ years and the more I learn about it’s origins and Joe, the more respect I have for it. Joe was a man ahead of his time and I’m grateful for this story to bridge the gap from the start of Contrology to where it’s evolved to now. A must listen if you are in the Pilates industry today.
