Resumen del Editor

A USA Today best-seller! The Dragons of Eternity were once creatures of mist and legend. Now they've returned to the world, prepared to claim what's rightfully theirs...

Tayla is desperate for a place to call home. After years on the run, the young imp impulsively buys a teahouse and is determined to build a new life. Unfortunately, she's barely opened the doors when she's tracked down by the dragon who purchased her from troll slave-traders. He demands she pay off her debts...in his harem. Baine has devoted a quarter of a century to tracking down his beautiful concubine. And now that he has her in his grasp, he's not about to let her go. But it's soon apparent that he isn't the only demon hunting her. He must uncover her secrets or risk losing her forever.

Interesting story, not so hot narration

I very much enjoy Alexandra Ivy books and have rarely been let down. This story would have been much more pleasant if the narrator would try harder to add life to the story. She also needs to learn the correct emotions that are needed to draw the reader in. She is so monotone, I'm not a professional narrator , but I could do a whole lot better than how badly this book was read.

I really hate when a good book is brought so low because of the narrator.

Very good story/start to the series :D

4 stars

This was a very good story. I liked both Tayla and Baine and after I found out more about their relationship/connection, I was glad they were able to figure things out to be together.

Tayla is an Imp and has been on the run for the last 25 years of her life. Her mother died at an early age and she spent most of her life looking after her father. 25 years ago, Tayla was kidnapped from their store and given to a dragon in payment for something. She was able to escape but has been running for 25 year until she found a house that she couldn't resist.

Baine is a dragon and a powerful one at that. Baine is intelligent and trades in favors and information in addition to being very good at the brute force approach. Bain came across Tayla just after she'd been delivered to his father as payment for something. He found himself entranced and immediately negotiated to buy her. Unfortunately, she escaped his father before Baine could take her home and he hasn't been able to find her since.

When Tayla found the house she loved so much, she used strong magics to shroud herself so hopefully she could stay hidden from her pursuer. She opened a tea room in her home and used her talent for baking to help bring in the customers. Tayla rents a room to a Gargoyle who runs a dating business and is also a friend. A friend who offers (insistently) to use a little magic to help Tayla find her true love...even if she denies wanting to find love. Soon after, Tayla unexpectedly senses Baine near and it's too late to run. She has no idea why her safeguards suddenly failed but it allows Baine to capture her.

Baine takes her to his lair and Tayla is pissed and resistant and who would blame her when you consider that she did nothing wrong but work late when some trolls kidnapped her and ruined her life. Tayla didn't see how Baine or anyone had the right to hunt her but that's what she'd been dealing with for decades. There is a strong connection between Baine and Tayla but Tayla avoids admitting it because of how they come together. When it comes out that Baine has a legitimate claim on her, she accepts it but not happily. It doesn't help matters that a number of people are hunting Tayla for unknown reasons which keeps Tayla and Baine rather busy. Regardless of the external drama and their messed up beginning, Tayla and Baine have too strong of a connection to let go of and, although they both take a bit to accept/recognize it, they eventually work things out between them. After that, it's pretty easy for them to come together and end the story starting towards a HEA.

This was a very enjoyable story. I liked Tayla and could sympathize with her situation and how she handled certain things. I don't think I would have been as easy on my father is he'd done to me what hers did to her but she wasn't a cream puff on the whole, just with those she cares about. Baine was an interesting character and I liked him very much. Overall, I liked this story and found it pretty engaging once I got into it. I'd recommend this story.

Not spark

It was kind of fast for me and I didn't really connect with the characters. The world is fine. It's just Bane and Talia didn't spark anything in me.

Not for me

Couldn't even finish this. Very juvenile and the voice of the narrator was monotonous. Too bad...

The Narrator ruined it all!

Never got past chapter seven, Narrator is that bad, sounds like a female when in Baine's voice and a Russian Whore when in Tayla's voice. I gave up😩😩😩
