Brinks and Cora

A non-stop, action packed, invigorating ride to go on with the Fallen Lords MC. Brinks and Cora went through so much but with MC family by their side it seems like they can get through anything. I enjoyed the family dynamics, the humor, and the way they all come together for one another. This series has been a blast to devour. I loved it!

Love this series!!!

One of my fave series' and relistens. Brinks and Cora are great although for most of the book they weren't actually together due to Jenkins. Of course the Lords come to the rescue and everything works out.

The issue with relistens is you sometimes have too long to think about some glaring faults. This book is no different. Cora was being held in a shack. It is mentioned that the windows are boarded but even so, why didn't Kora attempt an escape? Susie unchained her quite a few times and Cora said more than once she could have easily taken her. So why didn't she? Jenkins left for hours and sometimes days at a time which would have given Cora ample time to get away. Just because the windows were boarded didn't mean she couldn't get the boards off with Susie subdued. There were knives and other things in the shack she could have used.

Also, most of the club members live at the clubhouse along with quite a few of the girls... No one? Not one person noticed Cora and Brinks sneaking off together? For months? The girl gang notoriously gets in everyone's business and not one of them picked up on it? Cora hung with the girl gang daily and it was a secret for months? No one saw Cora going in or leaving Brink's room? Not buying it.

The last gripe is Jenkins. This guy supposedly lost his mind and suddenly wanted his sister to sell her. Then at the end of the book he's supposedly a huge meth head? Excuse me? If he was as strung out as he was portrayed at the end he wouldn't have had the wherewithal to kidnap Cora and come up with the plans he had. He wouldn't have been jetting off to do all these different things and making connections. It just didn't add up.

Ignoring those 3 things, I loved the series as a whole, but not this book on it's own. I love the Lords and the ever hysterical girl gang. It's not your typical gritty biker series. It's light and funny and can't be taken too seriously. Narration was great as always.

I recommend reading

This is one of the best MC series out at the moment. I took a chance and read it first, then bought the Audible version. I wish I had stopped at reading. The book and the storyline are great. It had some laugh out loud moments and Cora and Brinks are perfect together. The performance of this book, however, leaves a lot to be desired. At times it felt like it was read without any inflection whatsoever almost —childlike. I know I’m going to be in the minority saying that the performance was not well done but honestly it was not. There are too many good performances out there to consider this one even close to stellar. I do highly recommend this series. I do highly recommend this author and I really really love that Brinks and Cora together.
