Lacy Kennedy does it again!

When her brother’s murder in Sicily results in her nephew being held against his will, Paulina Moretti hires handsome, dangerous Ricardo Barone to help her bring him safely back home. Unfortunately, nothing is as it seems, and nefarious ne’er do well’s abound in this this tense, twist filled romantic thriller! “Bodyguard for Hire” is not only fabulously written, it’s beautifully and authentically, narrated! I was drawn in and completely immersed from beginning to end! There were parts that had me on the edge of my seat, and parts that had me in tears, characters I loved and characters I loathed. No spoilers, I’m not telling who’s who, or what came when, I don’t want to ruin the experience for future listeners! I will say that my interest was held from beginning to end and while parts of this “oh man, this could really happen” story were hard to listen to, I was completely satisfied by how the story played out! The entire production earns five fabulous stars! This will definitely be listened to again!

Good but a little choppy

This book contains adult language, explicit sex, rape, abuse, human trafficking.

While this story has many dark, sad aspects and is difficult to read at times, it's a short read with an HEA.

Several things going on here:

1. This book was short so obviously, character development, storyline could have been better.
2. Redundant catch phrases which may have been because things got lost in the translation,
3. Audio editing didn't catch repeated lines.
4. Abrupt changes are a little distracting--one minute they're in Cyprus and the next, she's been "servicing men" in Russia for the last 6 weeks and the hero is searching for his wife who calls him and tells him where she is -- how does she have his number and when did they get married?

A virtuous schoolteacher hires a surly, older bodyguard to help her rescue her nephew. She's fighting to hang on to her virginity and detests her offender/fellow rescuer but as the story goes on, she relents. More emphasis on the attraction between them in the beginning would have helped but such a short novel doesn't allow much elaboration. A quick jump ahead puts our heroine in the clutches of a human trafficking operation.

Many twists and turns in this story and it isn't always cohesive or flowing but it does have an HEA.

Narrator was good with a deep, pleasing voice and was pretty good with the female voice and Russian/Greek accents but needs to watch the monotone.

Dark Matter

A young woman desperate to rescue her nephew goes through hell and high water, and a lot of unlikely other scenarios to find him. In that effort she hires a Bodyguard to train her and take her on the rescue. Things do not work out to her favor and she finds herself kidnapped and sold into prostitution. This is pretty dark stuff but does have a love angle and HEA ending.

Riccardo and Paulina

the narrator was a little boring. story was interesting. I was super fond of her weight being teased a lot. but the story takes a lot of unexpected turns.

Bland narrator

The narration killed my interest for this. I think the story wasn't terrible but it was hard to stay tuned in due to the narrator. His voice was pleasant enough but it literally sounded like I was in a class for a lecture about something I could've been interested in if presented differently. I'd rather have read this. I will have skip anymore audio from him.
