Acerca de esta escucha

It's a crisp, snowless October in The Park. The root cellar is full, the cordwood is stacked, the oil drums are filled and there’s a freshly-butchered moose in her cache, but Kate Shugak must leave her cabin and head into the chaos of Anchorage, where the Alaska Federation of Natives’ annual convention is being held. Why? Because board members of the Niniltna Native Association have been dying...board members who just happened to oppose a lucrative new development project. If it’s just a coincidence, perhaps Kate will find nothing, but this is Alaska - politics and profit are constantly at odds with conservation and traditional practices, and anyone looking too closely is likely to discover something unsavory.

This must be my 10th time reading/listening to Dana Stabenow's Kate Shugak series and as soon as I'm through, I'll start my 10th time on the Liam Campbell series.

Ms. Stabenow is an incredible storyteller, and in her writing, I find myself standing next to Kate as the story unfolds. I'm immersed into a rich culture, I can see Kate's determination to find the truth, and I find that even after the 10th time, I can't stop reading or listening to the audiobook until the story is finished.

Thank you Ms. Stabenow!

Never disappoints...

The characters are developing so well in this series that I really care about what happens to them, good or bad.

A mystery in the city but with deep emotion and information about cultural pride. Dana Stabenaugh communicates these value with good information and love.

The title says it all

While the previous book in this series was a disappointment, this book justified my decision to continue in spite of that.

The story here is very strong, even if more than a bit politically loaded. The world of Aleut and Yupik residents of Alaska is invoked very effectively. And the development of the character of Kate Shugak, including her relationship to her boyfriend(?) is fascinating, believable, and relatable.

And the ending of the story is very strong indeed.

Very Good Suspense Novel

Would you listen to Blood Will Tell again? Why?

Yes it is well written ,the characters are interesting and real. The information on Alaska is wonderful

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I did not see the ending coming

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes but work got in the way so i could not

Any additional comments?

I have read the entire series in book or by listening and want Dana Stabenow to write another chapter for her character in a new book. the ending in the latest book has left me wondering about the character Kate and her loyal companion

A great series Start with book 1 and move through

First, Dana and her characters do not criticize Christ but have a lot to say about so-called Christians who use their beliefs to justify violence and bigotry. Although this novel is more than 30 years old, the plot could be happening in present day Florida.

I love this series for the main characters: Kate, Mutt, Jack and Bobby. Dana writes amazing female characters, strong and independent and humorous. New resident Dinah fits into this category except for her age; no one is that confident and mature at 21 or 22. I am not a fan of couples when one partner old enough to be the parent of the other.

Dinah and Religion

Good story. Kate went a bit overboard in some areas, but overall good. The narrator made the storyline and made Kate's emotions real. Overall a 4 out of 5.

Good but not the best

I really love this series. The scene with Jack and Kate in Nordstroms was wonderful and made me love Kate all the more.

Marguerite Gavin does a bang up job as well. She's one of my favorites.

Another great Kate!
