Resumen del Editor

Mark Dawson (author of the best-selling John Milton series) continues the action-packed quest for revenge begun by Beatrix Rose in In Cold Blood.

Ten years ago, Beatrix Rose headed an off-the-books hit squad that did the dirty work of the British Government. When she discovered that the commander of the squad was corrupt, he sent five of his assassins to rub her out.

But they failed. Bad mistake.

There were six names on Beatrix's Death List, and now there are four. She's going to account for the others, one by one, even if it kills her.

Beatrix has returned from Somalia with a fresh target in her sights. Bryan Duffy is in Iraq, surrounded by mercenaries, with no easy way to get to him and no easy way to get out.

Will Duffy prove to be a challenge too far?

Fans of In Cold Blood will know all about the unlimited action, but until you've listened to Blood Moon Rising, you'll only know one third of the story!

Thoroughly impressed by story and narration. The heroine is a right royal badass, who represents females CAN do it ALL! Looking forward to book 3.

Interesting story and smart, relatable female lead

Disclosure: I received this audiobook from the author in return for a candid review.

Beatrix Rose is a former covert British agent on a mission. And although it's a personal mission, she pursues it with single-minded professionalism. I normally tend to avoid spy novels with female leads because they're all too often the spy version of a "Bond girl" but Beatrix Rose is different. She's smart and level-headed, the kind of person who lives down the block or whose child goes to school with yours. There is an element to her circumstance that creates additional urgency for her to complete her mission, and it ratchets up the story's suspense level. This is an interesting, compelling story and Mark Deakins' narration is pitch perfect -- not too dramatic nor too flat. He really brought the story to life for me.

When the sequel to Blood Moon Rising is released, I'll be picking up a copy to catch up on Beatrix's next adventure. Highly recommend Blood Moon Rising to spy thriller and suspense fans.

Yet Another Excellent Yarn from Mark Dawson!

Beatrix Rose is one of the most interesting, complicated characters I have encountered in reading many thriller novels. In this second of three stories in the series created by Mark Dawson, the moral dilemma and action in the plot are very well balanced. Mark Deakins is an excellent narrator - easy to listen to and engage with, as he tells us the story. Dawson's Beatrix Rose and John Milton stories just keep getting better and better. It's great for his readers that he partners with as capable a narrator as Deakins.

Another great ride in the Beatrix Rose series!

After listening to the first book in this series, I was hooked! I have a long commute and listen to audiobooks frequently. Listening to this book, I found myself at work in no time, realizing I had been totally immersed in the story. I don't often looh forward to my commute, but I did during this book, wondering what was going to happen to Beatrix as she worked her "list".

The characters are well developed, believable, and likeable (I really have to have someone to root for in a story). There is a unique aspect to this series as you begin to see the relationship between Rose and her daughter. I feel like there is something special in store for the daughter, I just don't know what yet. The narration is well done as well. Overall a great quality audiobook.

If you haven't read the John Milton series yet, you can stil enjoy this series - it stands on its own. Although - you may want to read the John Milton series first because there are some references to that series in the Beatrix Rose stories.

I am very much looking forward to the next book in this series...

Awesome audio book .

Would you consider the audio edition of Blood Moon Rising to be better than the print version?

Yes the audio version makes you feel like you were right with Beatrix.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Blood Moon Rising?

How she helped the brother and sister get to a safe place/

What does Mark Deakins bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He makes you feel like your right there.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes it made me cry when she hugged the brother and sister goodbye before they went to their relatives.

Any additional comments?

This is the first book I have listened to and will now be looking forward to reading the rest of the series. Also this book stands alone so you can read the series out of order.

An spin off of Milton

Beatrix an ex Group 15 member on a mission for being wronged 8 years ago...now suffering with terminal illness searches out the team that killed her husband and took her daughter. Vengeance killings.

The series is ok, a B compared to John Milton's A!

Loved Blood Moon Rising

This is the second Audible book I've listen to ofMark Dawson's. As with the first book I've given it five stars. A fabulous listening story. I listen to audio books on my daily walks and Mark Dawson's books make my walk go past so quickly that I don't even notice that I've walked for over 2 hours. Just wish they were a bit longer. But fantastic all the same. Highly recommended.

She is crossing out names & getting her revenge...

Where does Blood Moon Rising rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

right up there with the best

What did you like best about this story?

Beatrix Rose has a list. She is crossing out names and getting her revenge.

Blood Moon Rising is the second installment of the Beatrix Rose thrillers by Mark Dawson. It continues Beatrix's quest to seek revenge on those that have taken so much from her. It is just as good as the the first book, In Cold Blood, and it left me in anticipation for the final chapter to come

.

Have you listened to any of Mark Deakins’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the second performance by Mark Deacon's that I have listened to in this series. They both have been enjoyable and well done.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Beatrix helps the young girl and her imprisoned teenage brother, to her own detriment, even though she is hell bent on getting her revenge.

Any additional comments?

I am looking forward to reading and listening to a lot more of Mark Dawson's books, past (Milton series) and future (Isabella Rose series). His books are well written and full of the action and suspense that makes you keep listening.

Beatrix Rose Rocks

Beatrix Rose is one of those kick ass females which need to be written about more frequently. I wish this series would continue far longer than it currently is

Mark J Dawson Books Won’t Disappoint

Up front, I admit I’m a Dawson fan. I’ve read everything he’s published.

Dawson’s ability to portray diverse personalities is amazing. I love that his series books effectively intertwine characters without too much backstory, but enough to make me want to read everything he writes. Dawson’s talents are vast.

Beatrix Rose and Isabella Rose are stellar representations of strong female protagonists. I suggest you read them in the order Dawson suggests.

BUT, if I were to wager, if you haven’t already, if you start with Beatrix you’ll soon enough become a John Milton fan.

Dawson’s books are truly unputdownable.
