Jackson is Back!’

I love all Kate Atkinson boons, but I’m particularly fond of the Jackson Brodie series. I found myself laughing out loud often despite the grim crimes in the background of it. The book is not about the crime as much as about the nature of people. I didn’t want it to end.

It took a while to set up the plot, introduce the characters. once it got going though, it was a great read.

Kate Atkinson never disappoints

Although I have enjoyed other Kate Atkinson works in the intervening time, I have waited for another Jackson Brody and I can say that it was worth the wait. Thanks for another great installment.

Love the return of Jackson Brodie

This was very well plotted, and having Jason Isaacs narrate was perfect since he portrayed the protagonist in TV series.

Perfect match of book and narrator

It's absolute magic when a great book also has a great narrator in the form of an audiobook. Mr. Isaacs is the perfect narrator for this book, and I enjoyed it immensely.

Another Kate Atkinson success and great narrator!

I have read all of her books and am blown away by her breadth of writing. I have a hard time with complicated mysteries so found Jason Isaacs performance enlightening and very entertaining. "Lucious Malfoy" from Harry Potter movies shows his acting breadth in this performance.

THE BEST yet!!!

This was a fantastic new chapter for Jackson Brodie and the motley crew of characters that support the story. They were completely compelling and I can’t wait for the next installment.

Can Jason Isaacs read the whole series? Please?

I only now discovered (through Hilary Mantel) Kate Atkinson and her deceptively accessible, thought-provoking writing. I'm enjoying everything immensely. And Jason Isaacs is the perfect reader for the Brodie series (I haven't even seen the BBC series). He barely changes his voice for different characters but somehow inhabits them brilliantly, from sulky teen Nathan to the resourceful Crystal. Not sure how he does it. Please, record the whole unabridged series with Isaacs!

I have to admit I was a bit disappointed in the audio book.

I have always enjoyed Kate Atkinson work. The story was good but to be honest a bit confusing. This didn’t stop me from listening what almost did stop me was some of the parts that had the narrator yelling/hollering? If I were able to read the book I simply would not have screeching sounds in my head.
