Ray Garton let’s the fur fly in this one for sure. There’s plenty of saliva, gore and doggie spew dripping all over the pages. Eeeww. Gross. Yep. That’s Garton.

Something lupine is running amok in the small coastal California town of Big Rock. It has friends. It wants to have lots of friends. Perhaps, the entire town if it can. It’s sure gonna try.

This didn’t waste any time getting right to it. It picks up in Big Rock sometime after the events of Ravenous. The besties are back, getting stronger and are multiplying. It’s up to a small group of concerned citizens and a few others to see if they put a spade to these here doggies. Neuter the threat to the town, so to speak.

Per Garton usual, if you have delicate sensibilities, then you may want to go read some John Green and have yourself a healing little cry instead. If you want a lycan baby murderous rampage, church-house puppy pounding and have some soapy bath time fun with Momma, then by all means, proceed. You have been warned.

I really did not care for the narration of this one at all. I upped the speed to 1.25x and it still wasn't good, but it was much better than at 1x.

Doesn't feel finished.

Need to know what happened to Lupa. It's like a movie that leaves sn opening for a sequel that will never come.

Very enjoyable horror novel

If you’re into werewolf novels and horror novels this one is super enjoyable. Narrator is pretty average but the story is surprisingly good and entertaining.

Dropped almost instantly

30 minutes of crass porn, rape and not enough werewolves. The synopsis gives no indication that the book is basically a grindhouse film in a text format. I can stomach sexploitation, but the start here really upset my spouse. The beginning scene is basically a badly written rape fantasy or a b-reel porn movie scrap. The characters were just plain bad and the narration was severly lacking in both production value and emotion.

A mediocre story & horrendous narration made this listen a chore.

A story involving shallow characters that goes nowhere, read by a lady who sounds like the car rental agent Steve Martin flips out on in "Planes, Trains, & Automobiles". If I'd actually cared about any of the characters then the gratuitous carnage might've hit harder, but at best this was a lesser 80's slasher flick with excessively graphic descriptions of sex & violence & sexual violence - even by the standards of lesser 80's slasher flicks. Sitting through this was like trying to masturbate with a cheese-grater. I keep hearing that the author's best book was the vampire tale "Live Girls", but after slogging through this & it's only marginally better predecessor, I think I'll pass.
