One September afternoon in 1999, teenagers Matthew, Zoe, and Duncan Lang are walking home from school when they discover a boy lying in a field, bloody and unconscious. Thanks to their intervention, the boy’s life is saved. In the aftermath, all three siblings are irrevocably changed. Matthew, the oldest, becomes obsessed with tracking down the assailant, secretly searching the local town with the victim’s brother. Zoe wanders the streets of Oxford, looking at men, and one of them, a visiting American graduate student, looks back.

Waste of an audible credit
The book was hard to get through because it seemed to drag. It was quite drab and dry, didn't get to the meat of what was going on until the end of the book. I wouldn't recommend this book.

Kept me wanting more but maybe too predictable?
It was a story that kept me wanting more, and I loved that it’s from the perspective of the antagonist. However, about halfway through I felt like I had figured everything out and I kept hoping it would unfold differently.

Fun read!
Okay so I love a good psychological thriller... I love being sucked in by the first few pages and then swept up for a day or two in a book lala land. This book totally did that for me. It kept me wanting to continue listening until it was over. It is a fast fun read. Don’t hesitate spending a credit on this book!

Took a minute to get rolling, but it was good
This dude is a real piece of work. It was a little slow going, but I understand why so much slow build was necessary to really get to the meat of who this guy was and just how dastardly (I don't get to use this word too often. LOL) he really is.

Bravo!
This was primarily a one man show and was very well written. Thoroughly enjoyed all the way through. Only reason I gave 4 stars on performance was Mia, I did not like either narration. Otherwise Graham Halstead did an excellent job.
