Okay, let me start by saying..
-We have a lot to do!
-Not tomorrow, but right now!

If you don't know of Paul A. Akers, search Amazon (right now!). Read '2 Second Lean' and then 'Banish Sloppiness'. Prepare to have your entire existence and way of thinking turned on its head.

At first glance, I thought the author was speaking of what an individual needed to do in order to achieve the goals of the well crafted lessons and examples given in the book 'Banish Sloppiness'. But, this is so much bigger than that.

It's not enough to just change one's self, but strive to understand how self discipline harmoniously works with everything and everyone. This is not a ME experience, it is a WE experience. Lots of contrasting examples of our normal way of doing things, versus the Japanese way of perfecting all things done.

Perfection is not the enemy of good enough. Things should be done right the first time!

After all, "if you don't have time to do it right the first time, when will you have time to do it over?". -Coach John Wooden

Don't take my word.. Check it out!!

I spent my whole life trying to do the best job I could but never considered how sloppiness was undermining my efforts. Just as important I never considered how Precision would accelerate my efforts. Stewardship is no longer a part of what I do it is the core of what I do. Being precise and banishing sloppiness will allow me to be a Thoughtful effective steward of the amazing gifts I have been given.

Never thought about this!

I have listened to and followed Paul’s teachings for years. 2 second lean changed the way my business operates and how all the team members I work with think. This book is a great review and reminder of the precision and respect Japanese people have. The rice grain culture has created a culture of respect for all resources they have. I was lucky to spend a week with Paul in Japan. This book is a great representation of the biggest takeaways from that study mission. Mottainai. Arigatōgozaimashita.
