Over the years mindful eating has increased in popularity as more people have discovered that it is a sensible way to how they approach eating and dieting at the same time. Well known diets such as paleo or Atkins are restrictive in what you can eat. Following and using one of these conventional diets stressful, can cause cravings for junk food because you are literally giving up bad habits over night. If you thought this was difficult then think about what smokers went through when they quit smoking or if you know somebody who did smoke before what did they go through. This is how difficult it can be. Let's face it people love their sweets, ice creams, chocolate bars and cakes. When they don't have those comfort foods as you call them, they become really depressed especially when they're trying to adopt the paleo diet which says you cannot eat those types of food. The result is that people who try a diet such as the Paleo Diet, which is just really restrictive will slip up on occasion and begin to eat what they really shouldn't. It's only human nature to crave what you haven't got any longer but as the old saying goes “old habits do die-hard”. Once a person has slipped, they feel guilty of what they just ate knowing they could have avoided it. The main thing is that the guilt trip will repeat itself over and over again until they give up the diet completely. They simply cannot stay disciplined enough to stay on track this depresses millions of people throughout the world. This is the main reason a lot of people turn to mindful eating is that have all the control back. Mindful eating doesn't tell you stop eating certain foods, you can eat what you want and not feel guilty about it. Mindful eating is all about your mood while you eating and how much you eat. Instead of eating all the food that is available to you in restaurants, at your local store or even at home, mindful eating gets you to focus on the art of eating which should become a good experience. Think of it like a date with your dinner. Ask yourself these questions: Why are you eating food right now? Are you actually hungry or is it a form of comfort. Mindful eating will empower you to become more judgemental when ever you sit down at the dinner table. As soon as you start to think why you are eating, you will suddenly pause, changing your experience from “consume or be consumed” to one where you question your habits. When you begin mindful eating, you will chew food slower than you have before, you will be asked to listen to the sound each bite makes. You will begin to appreciate the texture and appearance of your meal rather than just shoving your mouth with anything that is put in front of you as you watch the latest soap on TV. When become one with all your senses, you will begin to realize how the meal you just had directly affects you. If you eat like garbage you look like garbage, what you eat at home, you will wear in public. Enjoy your food or it will come back to harm you. If you begin to accept this, your choices of food, how you eat and your better judgement will soon begin to pay off. Eating can cause you a lot of pain but it can also be a pleasurable experience. There is a holistic approach that mindful takes as it transforms your eating from become a necessity to a journey of self-discovery. You and others around you will benefit from mindful if done correctly. Some people make a few mistakes when they are practicing mindful eating and in this Absolute Mindful Eating eBook, we will cover seven of them, telling you what to do instead. If you are going to practice mindful eating, this will get you off to right start.
