  • The Red Sox hit a season-high 5 Home Runs and beat up on the Toronto Blue Jasy with an 8-2 win in the series opener at Rogers Centre Tuesday night. The Red Sox have won 5 of their last 6 road games and are now a game over .500 at 9-8 away from Fenway. ----- Sox Leading Man: Jarren Duran got the Red Sox going with a leadoff Home Run against Blue Jays starter and losing pitcher Bowden Francis. It's Duran's 6th career Home Run to lead off a game and 1st this season. He led off a game with a Home Run 3 times in 2024. It was Duran's 3rd extra-base hit to start a game this season. -----Sox Digging the Longball: Alex Bregman also hit a solo Home Run in the 1st and Kristian Campbell hit a solo shot in the 2nd to make it 3-0. It was Campbell's 4th on the year. Bregman's Home Run extended his hit streak to 9 in a row. Rafael Devers hit the Red Sox 4th straight solo Home Run off Francis in the 3rd Inning and 3 batters later Wilyer Abreu hit a 3-run shot to make it 7-0. The Red Sox have hit at least 1 Home Run in 14 of their last 15 Games and have hit 38 Home Runs over their 1st 31 Games. ----- Crochet Day: (4-2). Garrett Crochet made his 7th start of the season and his 2nd against the Blue Jays in the series opener Tuesday night. Crochet took advantage of the early run support, and he picked up his 3rd win with 7 Innings of 2-run baseball. Crochet allowed a 2-out, 2-run Home Run to Vladimir Guerrero in the Bottom of the 3rd Inning and that was it. He walked 3 and struck out 6. The 7 runs scored by the Red Sox in the series opener are the most runs scored in a Crochet start this season. The Red Sox improved to 5-2 in Crochet's 1st 7 outings of the season with the win over the Blue Jays. ----- #'s of the NIGHT: Going back to last season, the Red Sox have won 6 of their last 7 in Toronto.
