Widowhood is all encompassing. For my husband, the past few years had been sad ones; he had been very ill. For me, watching him suffer was difficult. After he died, my emotions were conflicted. It had been three years since I’d first flown to Spain with my brother, Steven and written Touching Spanish Soil. And now, I decided it was time to go again; alone because Spain called and I listened. A three-month sabbatical lay ahead, the maximum time in Spain allowed without too much red tape. Three months? I could do that. As a single woman, the adventures pile up one on the other while driving through Spain's highways to Seville, Estepona, Granada, Malaga and the villages and through the Costa del Sol. Spanish Food, music, flamenco, tapas and speaking fledgling Spanish with the locals was a must. This is a trip where a woman finds herself by immersing herself in the Spanish culture and finding solace and new family and friends. And in the middle of it all, she fights writer's block for the 4th book in her mystery series. The crazy problems she finds herself in shows that a woman, alone can still find her way out again.
