Good overall, gap filler

ADB once again shows a great understanding of Lorgars characterization and character progression. The warp jumping scenes make for a fun backdrop to Lorgar’s journey and initial interactions with Chaos. The story also serves to fill the gap between several plot lines between previous Horus Heresy Books such as The First Heretic, Fulgrim and A Thousand Sons. Though not a lot is lost if you haven’t read those it does add to the overall plot significance of the novella.

Eye of Terror

As someone new to 40k, this was really good. I like how The First Heretic and this book really explained The Eye of Terror. But the audio is really low. Not good for car rides or work. But great when painting.

Good, audio levels need a bump

A nice complement to First Heretic and Betrayer and a good performance. The audio is strangely quiet, however and probably not well suited to a car or somewhere you cannot turn it up a lot.

Not bad but not as good as others.

The begining was very slow linking itself the the Heresey series and never fully made a good connection but it did fill in some of the background info missing.

Aurelian’s Story

It’s a good fill in for the Heresy series. Explain a lot and how he became who he was during that period.

great book from adb but it is recorder too quiet.

recorder too quiet cant listen to it in the car even at max volume. the performance was otherwise good

Perfect showing of Lorgar and the pantheon

This novel shows a perfect insight as to Lorgar and the pantheon of gods, the narrator nails the voices and the learning of the different chosen and paths was very neat. Lorgar has an amazing battle that can only be summed up as incredible and the book made me think twice about the "weak" primarch. Not once does Lorgar appear weak both physically and mentally here.

love this book!

I have listened to it at least a dozen times. I like the growth from doubt to zealot of Lorgar!

performer was way too quiet, but the story is a very well written one.

New Insight into Lorgar

The novel revealed another compelling reason why Lorgar turned traitor. It also showed his relationship with his other traitor brothers. It was a very interesting story.
The only downside is that the recording was very low.
