Acerca de esta escucha

Daughter. Sister. Priestess. Protector.

Son. Brother. Demi-God. Hero.

Monsters.

Gifted and burdened with beauty far beyond that of mere mortals, Medusa seeks sanctuary with the Goddess Athena. But when the lustful gaze of mighty Poseidon falls upon her, even the Temple of Athena cannot protect her.

Young Perseus embarks on a seemingly impossible quest. Equipped with only bravado and determination, his only chance of success lays in the hands of his immortal siblings.

Medusa and Perseus soon become pawns of spiteful and selfish gods. Faced with the repercussions of Athena's wrath Medusa has no choice but to flee and hide. But can she do so without becoming the monster they say she is?

History tells of conquering heroes. Tales distorted by time. Medusa's truth has long been lost. Until now. Now it is time to hear her truth. Revel in this powerful retelling of one of mythologies greatest tales today.

I enjoyed Athena’s Child overall. It was a solid, engaging listen. The narrator did a good job bringing the story to life, though occasionally it felt a little over-narrated. Still, her performance added personality and helped maintain momentum throughout.

The story itself was compelling, and I appreciated the fresh perspective on a well-known myth. That said, I found myself wishing for a bit more emotional depth. The shorter length may have played a part, but it felt like there was untapped potential to explore the characters more fully or linger in some of the heavier moments.

All in all, it’s a worthwhile listen, especially if you enjoy mythological retellings. Just don’t expect the same emotional resonance as something like The Witch of Colchis.

Thoughtful retelling, though a bit surface-level

I really enjoyed this book! The storyline was intricate without getting bogged down, the narrator was talented, and I loved the twist on these classic stories.

A touching, smart retelling with great insight. So many great quotes. Paraphrased: A story of monsters and heroes but which is which.

One of the greatest rendition told about Medusas life and burdened given to her by God's and because of one. Great!

The gods are terrible and this book does that argument justice. A great read, though a bit too short.

Superlative narration
