At the Mountains of Madness is a novella by horror writer H. P. Lovecraft. Lovecraft imagines that Earth was inhabited by highly developed creatures spawned from outer space long before the arrival of man. Vestiges of this civilization have lain buried in Antarctica for eons and eons. Professor William Dyer discovers this hidden land, and the horrors that had remained dormant there until disturbed by the professor and his party. Once again they are dormant, but can the professor convince others to leave sleeping monsters lie?

Great story and very good narrator. This WILL make you look for more HP Lovecraft stories. A definite must for horror fans. I will say there were a few times where either the download was corrupted or the narrator made abrupt stops where I was unsure if I had missed the story.

What would have made At the Mountains of Madness better?

I have to wonder if the print Mike Vendetti was reading when this was recorded had any punctuation, because it sounds like he is guessing his way through it!!!I
I am a fan of Audible.com & have at least 10+ books in my library, so I do have a certain level of comprehension. But after listening through almost the entire 1st chapter of this book, I have absolutely no idea what has happened so far!!! It's due to how the narrater drones on & chops apart sentences like there are commas & periods in strange places!!!

How could the performance have been better?

by me purchasing a version with a different narrater!!!
