Wow! Thought I loved my 3 kids

Wow oh wow! This one should not be missed! Unbelievable story! Ii could not stop listening!

Great storyline

This audio book was entertaining with twists & turns. Unfortunately the whiny voice of the narrator was irritating.

Very suspenseful!

I enjoyed this book very much! It was on the free book side and it was awesome. I will be looking for more books from this author!! Thank you!!!

Couldn’t stop listening

This was a satisfying read for me. Lots of drama involving secrets and guilt. A good plot I didn’t figure out too early. Some mild horror. A little wealth porn. Lots of tension. Lots of dysfunctional characters, not always who you think. Not great literature but diverting. Don’t read it for realism, rather escapism. Which I need!

I didn’t have any issues with the narration. Not the reader or the style of writing. I do tend to be not very picky about voice actors in general. It has to be a real outlier to get on my nerves and this performance wasn’t out of the normal range that I could tell.

Horrible Narrator

The story line was amazing if you could get bass the A.I (artificial intelligence) voice of the narrator.

Almost didn’t listen because of a review….

So there was a review about the narrators “whiney” voice… I read that & almost passed on the book. But I decided I’d see how tolerable or intolerable the narration was to me. Turns out the narration didn’t bother me… what one person perceives as whiney, I felt was narrative drama & emotion… which I felt was appropriate given the storyline. The narrator also did a fabulous job when it came to distinguishing main character voice vs others. Narration aside, I really enjoyed this book. Judge for yourself.

No likable characters

I understand a mom will do anything for her kids, but I think this went too far to be believed. Several twists and turns in the book. Some were predictable and others were surprising. I can't say there was a single character in the book I liked at all. The teens were a bunch of over privileged brats. The town cop was described as sharp, but really....how sharp could he have been with all that was going on???? The mom (Nicolette) went on too many verbal tirades and repetitive rants to a point of being annoying. Emma was just an emotional mess and unstable in more ways than one. I enjoy books that are more believable and that was not this one. Small town and yet nobody sees anything. Just left me wanting so much more from the story.

As the mom of 3 daughters, I get it! Great story, had my doubts on my theory from chapter 4 on but story line was engaging and thought provoking.

Well done with a couple of exceptions

Well-written and entertaining. Narrator is great and how I found the title- by searching for Lauren Ezzo.
I found it a bit too long and lacking some character development for some key characters which could be remedied by having multiple characters’ speaking instead of just the main character
