The Harlequin Theater is rife with art, culture, scandal, and mayhem. The wealthy and genteel watch from their private boxes high above as operas composed by a mysterious ghost are performed, while burlesque dancers, jesters, trapeze artists, and sideshow freaks dwell in the bowels of the theater.

In the midst of brocade gowns and rich velvet, Christine Daae locks herself away in an abandoned dressing room with a disembodied voice that awakens dreams and desires too compelling to resist. For Erik, the resident ghost and owner of the Harlequin Theater, his pupil represents everything he finds beautiful in the world, from her sweet, innocent soul to her incandescent voice and beauty. What should have been a discreet voice lesson spirals into a clandestine encounter of blistering exploration where he reveals his true identity.

Unable to resist the lure of finally being loved for himself, he finds himself surrendering to a young woman who could either prove his salvation or destruction. Having never known a woman's love before, Erik is taken from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows and is confronted with jealousy, fear of abandonment and rejection, sweet ecstasy, the promise of belonging, and a budding obsession that threatens to tear him apart.

This is the first installment in a series of novella-length episodes that explore a lush, modern, erotic take on the Opera Ghost's heart-rending love story that was sparked over a hundred years ago by Gaston Leroux's The Phantom of the Opera.
