Resumen del Editor

He’s out for revenge....

Ancient dragon shifter Rhys awoke from his slumber hungry for revenge against the witch who killed his sister. When his year-long hunt takes him to the rebuilding city of New Orleans, he finds a witch — but not the one he’s pursuing. While Rhys wants to despise all of Dallas’s kind, even he can’t deny that she's kind, beautiful, and adorable…and her pet baby dragon just increases his fascination with the one woman who should be his sworn enemy.

And it might cost her life.

Dallas Kinley is used to being hated because of what she is. Witches have always been the pariahs of the supernatural community. Until now, when the world needs rebuilding. Even though she wants to keep her distance from Rhys, vampires and humans are dying in New Orleans, so she vows to help him hunt down the monsters responsible. But finding the enemy witch comes at a heavy price, because Dallas is hiding a terrible secret that could rip her and Rhys apart. She can only hope his need for revenge isn’t more important than their growing attraction…or her life.

Ancient Enemy, Ancients Rising, Book 2 Katie Reus

ANCIENT ENEMY (Ancients Rising Book 2) By Katie Reus
This is book 2 in the new Ancients Rising series. This one is as good as the 1st book. I love a dragon shifter. (Maybe because my high school mascot was a red dragon?) Rhys is newly awakened from his hibernation and now is on the hunt for the witch that killed his sister. He finds that things are not always as they seem. Dallas has a great heart and doesn’t have an evil bone in her body. Willow a baby dragon, almost steals the show in this book. I loved her and everyone in the story did too. Rhys and Dallas are a great couple. We get to visit with old friends. Lauren Ezzo narrates this story as she did the 1st and again does a great job. This is a 5 star read.

Rhys & Dallas!!!

I absolutely loved Rhys and Dallas story. This paranormal story hooked me from beginning to end and I listened to the audible version in one sitting. Rhys wants revenge for his sister. Dallas wants to continue living her life the way she has with Willow. However, their paths cross and Dallas wants to keep parts of her past hidden while Rhys can't let his go. Rhys will have to decide if his love for Dallas is worth more than the secret she has been keeping and the vengeance he has been seeking. The ending of Rhys and Dallas story was steamy and sweet but I can't wait to get King and Aurora's story. I'm definitely look forward to more stories from this author. The narrator did a fantastic job with this story and I hope she does more books in this series.

Willow stole the show!

Willow completely stole the show in this one. She was so adorable that even all the characters in the book couldn't get enough of her. I hope we see more of her in the upcoming books in the series.

Now that I have my love for Willow expressed, I really did love Dallas and Rhys, as well. Dragon shifters are my favorite shifters to read about. To me they seem to be the unicorn of the shifter world. I find that Katie Reus really does them justice.

Rhys is a bit grumpy and has a one track mind on vengeance, so I loved seeing how Dallas not only showed him there is more to life, but she was also was the road to give him closure. And Dallas? I loved her innate goodness. She could have easily become like the evil villain she was raised to be. Instead she never let the dark touch her.

I always love getting to see my favorite side characters again, as well as new characters. There is just a lot to love about this series.

So so good

This storyline is fantastic. I read the darkness series prior to this so I’m familiar with all the characters and their back stories. The authors ability to tie everything together is amazing. This love story was very sweet. I also love that even though the books focus around one couple there is also foreshadowing of more blooming romances.

The narrator is great. Her ability to voice male characters is very pleasing to the ear.

Wonderful narration of action, drama, and romance!

Audiobook: Narrator - Lauren Ezzo

I really enjoyed this narrator. She did an amazing job with both the male and female characters. Add in the fact there is a diverse list of secondary characters involved in this story as well and she was able to give them all a bit of individuality, and I jumped immediately into her performance and didn’t want to leave.

I can’t get enough of this world and all its amazing characters!

Rhys’ hunt to find his sister’s killer takes him to New Orleans where he meets Dallas and her baby dragon. Prejudiced against witches, he’s on his guard with her as he’s assigned to help her with a project prescribed by their Alpha. Being a Katie Reus book, it doesn’t take long for his protective instincts to kick in and what follows is all kinds of deliciousness that was exactly what my day was in need of!

Dallas was perfect for Rhys. She was sweet and gentle with everything good about her. But when the situation warranted it, she was more than capable of doing what it took to take care of what was at hand. I loved learning more about her the further into the story I read. I especially loved her protection over her baby dragon as it shined a light on what was truly in her heart.

It’s no surprise I loved Rhys and all his protective and possessive actions regarding Dallas. Watching him morph from a shifter who was after revenge to one who could think of nothing but his woman’s welfare showcased how he was incapable of doing anything but following those traits.

This has several plotlines running through it, some joining together and others setting up what these secondary characters will be facing in the future. All of it pure perfection. There was never a moment that this became boring or bogged down and the steam level was dragon scorching. Not sure who we get next, but I’m already greedy to get it into my hands.

Good

Rhys is looking for the witch who killed his sister, set on revenge to atone her death. We meet Dallas who left the coven years ago because of all the dark things in which lies was prominent. Though she too has a secret which could also destroy. Together they want to rebuild New Orleans, and the cause of humans and vampires that are dying.

love this series!

I'm so excited Katie keeps adding to what started out as the darkness series. I love revisiting the characters. some writers have that ability to make you care so much for the characters, like they become people you know and I love that every Katie Reus book I read has that. I've never been disappointed by her books and this one is proof. the Characters are great and adding the voice of the baby dragon was just awesome!
I hope King's story os next!
